Journalists Flee Utah Newspaper(Deseret News) Overtaken by PR

The church PR dept is writing stories made to look like journalists wrote them.

I suppose to be surprised you have to not be mormon, but I'm glad that its getting some publicity from a completely non-religious site.

But then, is the Deseret News a real newspaper? Or a PR organ for the LDS faith? If the latter, they may as well sack all the staff reporters and have it run from the PR unit of the LDS church. They could have free foreign news provided by the PR people for the LDS Church who work all over the world.

As a UK-based journalist, I don't think the LDS Church and Deseret News have been very honest in how they dealt with this. Don't Mormons believe in all their dealings? At least, that's what I thought...

I thought Deseret News laid off a ton of people recently?

As I understood it the staff were not fleeing, but losing their jobs. So are the PR folks replacing people, or is it that they are the only ones left with a job?

Will they ever stop cheating and lying about people. This is the most hideous group of human beings I've had the displeasure of knowing.
