I am also drinking some of my Christmas beer (Old Speckled Hen) and I will soon have some Christmas cake with some of my Chirstmas gift Laphroig Whisky. This is seriously sipping Scotch, Timothy! Some of the best I have ever tasted.

Knock it off, Matt!

I went out last night with another cabbie for some pre-New Year celebrating (just good food of course, and an iced tea for me).

He had a maragarita-and-a-half--the whimp!--and that didn't bother me even though he apologized for drinking...

I keep white wine around the house for cooking (I don't have much use for red since I buy bottled spaghetti and marinara sauce), and the occasional beers left in my cab are no problem. I tip dispatchers with them...

Scotch, especially a really smooth single malt--I no go there, period...

I did, however, once have a glass of Talisker, so my life hasn't been a complete disappointment...

As for Laphroig... Very definitely drinkable...

Makes me proud of me Scottish forbearers even the ones who were silly enough to come to Utah and leave me stranded as result...
