A couple of years back I had to go to a stake conference with TBM DH and my two kids when we had an apostle visit our area for the first time ever. Afterward TBM DH made my daughter go up to the front of the chapel and shake hands with the guy. She didn't want to but did it only to please her father. When she came back, I asked her what it was like. "He's as human as you and me and any other person around," she responded.

Huh?

Creepy creepy creepy. The one thing repeated over and over in that "article" was the sense that this superior being actually acknowledged people--the implication is that by all rights he should ignore them and STILL they would be in adoration.

In reference to one of the dancers age and future missionary "it was really special to know that he didn't know my age and that the spirit confirmed to me that this is the prophet of god speaking to and about me" uh, unless you are dancing with your companion you're probally not on a mission and if you are a rm he's talking about your senior mission

I think that making eye contact with the crowd is his method for identifying his future victims. His Danite goons whisk them away to the kill room under his secluded mansion.

I met Monson years ago. Not impressed. The first apostle I spoke with was GBH. Not impressed. The worshipping of "prophets" is sickening/

Mormons get offended if you use the cult word to describe their church, but stories like this show why people call the LDS church a cult.

I once had an interview with a GA. After shaking my hand, the first thing he said was, are you nervous?

My thought was, what an arrogant man! What? I'm supposed to be shaking in my shoes at the chance to talk to him? Not so much.

I think he was a bit upset that I wasn't all gaga over him.

He's just a guy. Rumor has it that he's a grouch at times, just like any other. I bet I'm actually nicer than him.
