7% of Mormons don't know Joseph Smith was Mormon

That's from the poll mentioned several times on this list about people's knowledge of religions. That's one statistic I hadn't seen mentioned though.

Not really surprising

That's about the same percentage who can't read, who don't know who the president is; in general totally oblivious to the world around them.

On the left side, click on "religious groups" to see what percentage each group got right.

And Black Protestant and Hispanic Catholics know the least (25% each) who Joseph Smith is......hmmmm....looks like the Morg has some work to do.
