Being that that date is probably the most important day in the history of the " last dispensation-(mo speak).. The Day God and Jesus visited New England.
What specific day - month -and year did JS have the first vision. You would think that would be remembered above all dates in Mormomdom. I can only find spring - 1820

Just curious...

I believe it's supposed to be April 6th, which is also supposedly Jesus's real birthday. I might be mixing it up with something else.

I think April 6th was the date the Church was organised.
The date of the 1st vision - don't know

I seem to remember reading some research into this, based on historic meteorological data, it having been a beautiful spring day and all.

Somebody (with too much time on thier hands apparently) did a rundown on this based on when the maple syrup was harvested!
Yeah, I would think JS woulda made a note of it....

My point in post was to get people thinking...

If God the father and his son JC showed up in a vision... you better well believe we would know what day it was and it would be celebrated more than the 24th of July here in Utah. We only find out about the first vision 22 years after the fact.
If I saw God in person I would remember what day it was.
To me this is a very telling important overlooked fact.

Just is.

There never was a Vision witnessed by Joesph Smith. It was all a childish fantasy made up by his stupid 8 year old impish mind.

It was a day that ushered in the dispensation of the fulness of times! A day like no other! A day when the heavens were opened and God and Jesus Christ once again communed with man, just like Moses and other prophets of old.

A day that will never be forgotten!

Perhaps the greatest day in the history of modern mankind...the first vision was received by the boy prophet, in the Spring of uhh 1820 or 1822 or something on the uh, let's see, what day was that?

It was was April 1 1820-22

The woods were very muddy as they usually were that time of year[s]
so
Joseph would have thought up the story in the barn.

Considering Joe Smith had such a fantastic event happen in his life we can only assume he was so taken aback that it made him forget things i.e at first he only mentioned seeing one personage, God the Father, so the actual date would have been of little consequence. Anyway, its only a story. Unfortunately it doesn't have a happy ending if you stay in the church
