Not scared into obedience but out of Mormonism. Son said Monson mentioned Satan a bunch of times but Jesus only once. He knows because he kept count. And he reported that the whole talk was geared to frighten people into being good. Son said he'd never been so creeped out in his life and wanted to get out of there so badly. He was only there because it's a family tradition that grandpa, dad, uncles, cousins all go together to grandpa's stake center to watch and then go out to dinner afterward.

Apparently Uctdorf knows our evil bishop or something because my son said his talk seemed to be written just for our bishop, to deliver an @ss kicking. I am actually looking forward to reading a conference talk for a change.

"Susceptible"? What does that mean? I'm a woman, so maybe I don't understand. I always thought the fact that evil exists isn't a reason to join in and partake of it. Besides, I think masterbation is beside the point. How could this be soooo important all the time? Does this subject deserve more consideration than spousal abuse, child abandonment, adultery, substance abuse, crime, business fraud, etc.?

I didn't watch the special KSL broadcast about masterbation, because I find it just too embarrassing. Do men really talk to their wife about this? Isn't it just too personal? Aren't the Mormons being too invasive here? I think they are crossing the boundaries, just like they do with underwear. Human beings should be allowed their privacy and dignity!

Remember when television was "the instrument of the devil?"

The TV evangelists were considered especially evil in those days. Maybe Mormons were afraid they would steal away members from the Mormons' televised evangelism.

Any way you look at it, I think the Mormons are afraid of the internet. Well, the leaders want to SCARE and THREATEN the Mormons out of using it. Thus the erroneous, closed-minded idea that INTERNET = PORN. Like, APOSTATE = SINNER. I hate their cult tactics.

The longer the cult can stall a male member (I mean a member of the cult) from discovering the truth, the longer he will be paying tithing and donating his labor. The longer the cult will be able to keep indoctrinating the member's children and wife.

(The ironic thing is, that my TBM neighbor gave me my very first computer lesson, for the purpose of doing my geneology. It was his calling to teach everybody in the ward how to use the internet--LOL!)
