TMBs who refuse to look into our complaints about the church are really just Wiley Coyotes. They've run off of a cliff and they know that if they are forced to address the situation, they will look down and fall, but so long as they remain unaware of their situation, they can keep running and reality has no effect.

I suppose that makes us the Road Runner with the painted hole that we are trying to get them to see. I suppose that is why we are so scary.

Kathryn Schulz uses the Wile E. Coyote metaphor in her book, "Being Wrong." She adds that being wrong feels exactly like being right. It's the REALIZATION that were wrong that feels different.

So, yes, the trick is to remain unaware that there's only sky under your feet. After all, ignorance is bliss.

An added twist is to not blame yourself for running off the cliff, but to blame the ground for failing to stay under you.
