That has been my point for a long time- his 1832 vision (whether real or not) is supported by his teachings on God in the BoM, the Book of Commandments, the Book of Moses, the ealier half of the D&C, the Lectures on Faith, D&C 20:5-6 also speaks of this version of the vision, and his corrections in the JST.
If there is a version that rings most likely to be true, it is the 1832. The alternative is to try to fit all those scriptures into the box of the Official Version.
That brings us to the real question for believers-
Is the official account of the First Vision proof that the church is true, or is the Book of Mormon proof that the church is true? You can't have both.
