So glad to hear it Bite Me. I wanted to attend St. Judas's more but I moved and the hours-long drive made it unfeasible. If I recall, at the time I only had my wife out. Now it's my entire family except just a couple exceptions. The weird part is I didn't do anything. They all figured it out independently and without me. A great anecdote for how TSCC does more harm than we ever could. I owe a deb

Hi RJ. I no longer post, not really. I feel I've moved on. A lot has happened since we met for lunch over ten years ago. I don't feel the need to share anything more than the critical balance in my family has shifted. We exmos now are the majority, and by a lot. It's like a five to one ratio. It's life changing. Mormonism is now very much an afterthought. But I did want to say hi and thanks. It's

Been a decade now. No long post needed. No need to attempt creative therapy writing. Just want to say I no longer hate the Church. I nothing it. I still contend the opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is apathy. To hate something you still have to care enough about it to think about it. I just don't think about it much. It's nice.

Sorry to hear about that DNA. I'm slowly coming to the realization that I'm going to probably have to do the same thing. Your line, "I enjoy being an orphan much more than an outcast.", really resonated with me. My go-to line thus far while keeping my distance has been, "I'd rather be literally alone than with people who make me feel alone." So I often choose to not be with th

May those surrounding you now be as good to you as you have been to others, even people you didn't know. I don't believe in karma but I do hope you get it at this time.

Since RJ posted about Nauvoo this is on my mind. I too visited Nauvoo but this was some time ago. I went around and did the tours of the old buildings as a non-believer. When I entered the post office (not a current operating post office, a tour site, this is important) there was no one there. There were no tour guides. I still don't know why. So anyway I waited. I waited longer. Nobod

I do remember. I remember saying it took me three years and I did it by not trying to persuade but by living as an example. Seeing an exmo be a better person than they were as a TBM is mind-blowing to a believer, and it's how I did it. I learned that from username ihidmyself (I think he changed his username). Anyway, I do remember telling you to not give up. This is great news. I'll see if I

Or take an offer that sounds too good to be true. In that sense, I really was stupid. We too are not immune from believing what we want to believe. Like so many other things I learned it the hard way.

I can't claim to always be the good guy. I have not been the good guy at all times and to everyone. I have however been the good guy to the people that matter most to me, my wife and kids. Nice to see you again. Have you by seen After Life? I love it. A quote from it reminded me of you, "And don't give up...because they may have won...and they grow in numbers.". "Who?"

Hi Eric. Thanks for rushing to my defense when I was down. If the mark of a good man is how he treats a person who is down, and I believe it is, then you are one of the greatest men I know. I am no longer down. I'm thriving. It's my turn to rush to the defense of the defenseless. I will pay my debt to you forward. I will defend those who cannot defend themselves and watch over and protect new and

Your's was one of the first names I looked for, but I didn't see it. Totally would have included it but I didn't see you. I hope you're having a great summer break from all the students. Nice to see you again!

I'm no longer in the Salt Lake area, but I'd be happy to share the details when I'm in town. I'll drop you a line. Perhaps one of the Sunday meetups that Bite Me still does in the Lehi area. I'd have to do a bit of travel to get there but I could do it. Nice to see you again man.

I haven't posted here in three years. I see many of the names I still know. Human, Elder Berry, Donbagley, Nightingale, Cabbie, Dave the Atheist, RPackham, Brother Of Jerry, Cheryl, PapaKen, Bite Me, Chicken N. Backpacks, and too many more to list you all. I've met many of you in person over the years, including Erik K. Hi everyone. I've missed you. Over the years I've used this board as a

@The Invisible Green Potato. I may have overemphasized alcohol. That was just a small example. What I was really getting at was I've found that outside world of Mormonism I have no idea how normal people socialize and I kind of suck at it. @Summer. Nice to see you again too. Writing here was good therapy, I should probably do it again from time to time. Always nice to hear from you. @Rap

Boy it's been a long time since I've posted here. I'd like to explain why. I want to talk about the red pill™ and its unexpected side-effects. We exMormons like to think of ourselves as Neo bravely choosing to know the truth and finding newfound greatness in ourselves, then promptly using that power to kick ass. This is at least partially how it works, and it is a benefit of choosing to ta

Everyone's life situation is different Frankie. Some people are connected to the church with golden handcuffs. It's a multi-billion dollar corporation after all. Don't be like theme and be judgmental just because they didn't choose your path.

Yay! Have I ever mentioned that I once saw him chew out his wife before a devotional? No? That's because I haven't. In any case he did and I thought then, "What an asshole."

I wouldn't ask him anything but I'd hook him up anyway. A polygraph requires vitals and his results would only prove he may in fact be undead.
