I never served a mission, but I have been working out of Brazil for over 4 years now. I work in Vitoria, ES flying in and out of Rio. I've never had issues here. Like anywhere, good and bad to enjoy and avoid. People the same. I see missionaries, and have talked to them a few times, walking Vila Velha a few times. Always from the US.

First, don't use bible verses and religion to persuade your TBM siblings to help care for your parents. Don't stoop to their level. Second, don't let your parents or siblings walk on you and your sister. Call an "emergency" family meeting with all your siblings, you and your sister driving to a location that is closest to your TBM siblings. This keeps them from having to put forth

"Son, this is the one true church on earth....." Said to me before I even have memories. There are no christian children, mormon children, muslim children. There are only children in christian, mormon, muslim families.

How will that affect the mormon church? Do people pay tithing to get a little more back on taxes? No, TBM tithe payers pay for their rewards in heaven. If that were to become a federal law, all it would be is fodder for their fire that the world is out to get them. The next conference after that law was passed you would hear, "Brothers and sisters, you are not paying tithing to

Exactly! Even if they do change how they choose the new president, nothing will change. White, old, conservative, TBM to the core.

Is there a plan? What God would use prayer as a means to change plans? I'll help you find your keys but that kid can starve. War is a wonderful gift of God? Who has the knowledge of this plan - a church, a person? If there is a God, he has nothing to do with our lives. If he does, he's an evil and vindictive God.

Beachbody - though they are from CA. I attended one of their promotions and the guy doing all the talking was a mormon out of Utah, had attended BYU. They are MLM and proud of it. Personally, I love their products, but couldn't join the ranks of MLM "coaches".

No leaving house on Sunday aside from church or church activities. No going out to play with friends. Must wear church clothes all Sunday. Only read church magazines or listen to church music on Sundays. Sisters could only wear dresses that went past the knees. Could not pierce ears. None of us could wear tank tops or sleeveless t-shirts. We had to wear clothes that would cover garmen

In Raymond, WA, 8 years old and I can still remember Mt. ST. Helen blowing its top. The ash, the face masks to keep the ash out of our lungs, washing down the streets with a fire hose, and so much more.

I think more parents should stand up and report this behavior. It is wrong to allow hour children to be questioned like this. As I have said more than once, (if you are an adult, especially a parent,) "you're an adult, act like it." And allowing your children to be questioned like this is you not taking control of the well being of your children. I am happy you are standing up for what

God, Jesus, & the Holy Ghost are like an egg. Three separate beings all working together for the same purpose. God....... damn, I just dropped my egg and its all mixed up.... Just like religion... a mess.

I agree with Cheryl, we don't owe missionaries any special considerations. They chose to come out on a mission. Even if they are only 18 it is a good life lesson for them to learn, that they are not part of the one true church and that there are other ways to think. Some people have had a lot tougher life and lost more when leaving Mormonism than others. Until you've walked in every other exmormo

My wife and I somehow ended up with a salt and pepper shaker collection we had to put a stop to because people kept sending them to us. We kept our favorites and gave the rest away. Sea glass is what we enjoy collecting, along with unique shells. Sometimes, on beaches with a lot of sea glass you can find sea tile. Tile that has been worn the same as glass. I want to find enough to actually til

Bullet proof, fire proof magical underwear. I didn't need anything to debunk that aside from wearing them. Got just as many bumps, bruises, bug bites, and scrapes wearing them as I did when I didn't and do now not wearing them.

Your right. If you bow your head in submission, they think they win. If you respond, letting them know you will not be treated as such, you have set a boundary from the start. We are adults and need to act like it. Letting others trample on you is not okay. The response yesterday to said letter was well written and showed the responder to be the better person - extending a hand in friendship.
