No. You can only get a temple recommend for: 1: Baptisms for the dead, aged 12 and up. You will only have access to the baptism area of the temple. 2: If you want to get your endownments usually 18+ . I"m not sure the age is written down somewhere, but I've never seen anyone younger than 18 get to do this. you cannot attend a temple wedding unless you have have been through

and all those patriarchal blessings, in which members (inlcuding me!!) were promised to see the second coming of Christ, and how they would not taste death and be 'changed' in the blink of an eye... and then God goes and changes his mind. Again....

I Remember hearing a lot of the: In the hollow of thy hand... song.. Mostly 'performed' by some ambitious members who aspired a church singing carreer.. There was a lot of that actually. People aspiring singing carreers in the church. Although I must admit, I did like to sing. Was never very good at it, and the church music is drab.. but I did love participating in the ward choir quite

Here in the Netherlands, the mormons have always drank redbush tea... claiming it's not 'real' tea, and therefore fine to drink... I wonder how they deal with all the other herbal infusions nowadays... it must be so confusing to be mormon..

I've been out of the church 25 years. And for about 20 of those I have felt stupid. Because I was never taught to think. Really think! I was taught to obey, to not question instead of to think critically. It's only in the last few years that I"m realising I am actually a pretty smart cookie. (And bloody cute too!.. oh the feeling ugly is a whole other topic..)

Yes exactly. It's always about the sex in the church. Sex and money. In their eyes nothing to do with Love.

The show is called: How to be gay. And it was aired by the KRO-NCRV. There is youtube clip called: Hoe is het om mormoon en gay te zijn? which is the segment about the church.

I rarely watch tv, but the other night I did and came across a Dutch show where the host (a lesbian) travels the world to explore what it's like to be gay in different parts of the world. She was in Utah... commenting on the high suicide rate amongst young gays in the state. She tried to film an interview of a young photographer in front of the SLC temple. .. Lo and behold..church security

Yep! How about if a woman in that situation would just hoist up all her skirts and starts to take off the hose?.. And doing it in such a manner that all the brethren in the room get a glorious view of her underpants and even her bum as she bends down (with the skirts and robes hoisted around her waist... to take the hose off of her feet... Now THAT would be entertainment..

It is such a HUGE change that women are no longer 'under' the command of men.. HUGE! This could really come back to bite them...

Exactly! I was taught/told that there was meaning in every little detail of the temple ceremony, and that it would take many, many trips to the temple for me to 'see' let alone understand most of them... And now they've just deleted the non essential ones.. Mental gymnastics..

Interesting!! I'm from the time of gesturing my own disembowelment... So funny who they keep changing things yet deny that they are changing at the same time. Thank you for taking the time to respond guys. I appreciate it

Hey all, someone mentioned that there had been a change in the temple ordinance for women? I did a search but can't find it. Can you give me a heads up? Haven't been on here in ages so a bit out of the loop, but dead curious now with conference coming up and all the shizzle going on..

Well it wouldn't be the first time they changed their minds on that subject.. I remember when beards were fine and sported by the high and mighty themselves.. then all of a sudden they were banned.. Wouldn't be too surprised if they came back. Nice diversion tactic from this gay-kids cunundrum methinks..

When I first left mormonism I felt empty and lost. I tried to fill that void by studying Wicca, but I couldn't cope with the rules and hierarchy. I was done with that sort of thing. I did engulf myself in a less strict form of witchcraft. Now, I can say; I really don't believe anything religous anymore. I no longer need it. I've got me now.
