If it was really the last days and she would live to see it all, then why did the LDS church build/invest $4 billion in a mall? Seems like that would be the last thing they would do.

That's what I would assume. No Mormons would be on this site unless they are questioning themselves.

It seems many posters on RFM do so as anon and have a paranoia of getting busted by their Mormon bishop, friends, relatives, or even church spies. But does this EVER really happen? Do ANY TBM's (aside from creepy mopologists like Daniel C. Peterson) really read this site frequently enough, if AT ALL, that they would catch some poster that they know? It seems unbelievable to me that this wou

Yep, it was one the first things to seriously make me question whether the church was inspired of God. I was familiar with the masonic ceremony, and so when I went through the endowment for the first time, all I could think was, "Joseph Smith ripped this off from the masons!"

I always thought the same thing. My resignation letter was several pages long outlining many of the historical and doctrinal problems that I discovered from studying the real history of the church. My intention was to hopefully wake up a few of the individuals who had to read my letter. It seems that allowing membership records employees and the local priesthood leaders (bishops and stake pres

Yes, actually I was wondering too what EXACTLY raising the bar meant. When I left in 1994 it seemed that they were fairly strict already about "worthiness" to enter a mission. I was suspicious that the "raising the bar" thing was just an excuse by the "brethren" to use for the dropping number of missionaries applying for missions.

Good reply. The Mormons sure do work hard to tear other people from their own faiths but they'll whine and shout persecution when others do it to them. I would also add that if other people leave the Morg because of your information, then your information must be more convincing than what the Mormons can provide. In addition, you are making them leave, they are doing by their own CHOICE.

Well, since no one gave a number, I will. I think 90% plus would leave (or no longer believe, but will attend for social/family reasons). I actually believe the Mormon "testimony" is very shaky. The problem is that the cult has the members too brainwashed to look at the evidence. I think if they actually looked at the evidence their testimonies would vanish. I believe that the ones

It's just sickening how WEALTHY the LDS church is, yet they are such SCROOGES with their tithe paying members. Not only are they the only church that requires its members to "donate" 10% of their earnings to the church, but they ALSO tell them to pay for fast offerings, their kids's missions, Prop 8, new temples, and so on. They then have the gall to go have gall to build a $4 BILLION

I am an ex-TBM due to exposure to the TRUE mormon history. I had read a few anti-Mormon books, was disturbed but was still able to rationalize enough that I stayed a believer until I read Jerald & Sandra Tanner's book Mormonism-Shadow or Reality. Reading that book was like an unstoppable tidal wave of evidence demonstrating to me how completely untrue the LDS religion was. I was as stubborn a
