Should make any rational person realize there is not power in the priesthood.

LOL. They were forced to bring the missionaries home. They were forced to close the indoctrination centers. They were forced to close their money making machines(temples). The smartest thing they could do is end missionary work completely for the next two years, go completely online for two years as well, and let the members seperate themselves into groups. Whoever is still paying tithing

You are giving the quorum of the 12, the presidency of the church and most members WAY too much credit. Nelson is a believer, only a believer could make the COLOSSALLY stupid mistakes he has made. When Hinkley died the braintrust went with him. The smart and stupid fought in the upper rooms of the Salt Lake temple. Stupid won.

I will answer your question directly. - NO. I believe in the gullibility of the human race. I believe that people are only as "good" as they are required to be to maintain the social contract. I believe societies structure is governed by the need of the many to be led and protected, and the need of the few to lead. I believe guilt, shame, fear, and revenge are learned behaviors.

The Book of Mormon. Any real god would not let that shitty writing represent him. Read "The Godmakers"...went to the temple 2 months later... I was done. It took me almost 20 years to GTFO but I finally did.

He 100% knew it was a fraud and said as much on national television. "the people sustain me as such" is doublespeak for I am no prophet and I know it.

No to this. Look at how he worded it. She said "it bothers me you watch programs to see this(nudity)". This is manipulative language designed to control behavior in a passive-aggresive way. A big sign of a relationship that does not have healthy communication about this topic. This is not her with a legitimate concern, this is her forcing her will on her husband. If it was legit

The other answer is better, but in truth, the basis of hedonism if that it feels good it is ok. Ethical hedonsim included the qualifier of not hurting anyone else before it is deemed acceptable.

If you accept the fact that we, as homo sapiens who have not yet achieved the singularity have an incomplete and flawed view of both science and spirituality, and that in fact, we probably understand only 1/100th of a single percent of how the universe works, then the best answer to the nature of god is that it is a hormonal pissed off pre-teen. That the entire multi-verse we can see and hear

I eat like every day is my last meal. I welcome the sweet darkness of endless sleep... JK - My last meals contents would be irrelevant if I was not with my family. That being said, my DW's fried chicken and mashed potatoes with milk gravy.

I cannot remember if it was on this or another board, but someone outlined how to make donations not visible to the local ward. It is a program reserved for the wealthy to be able to hide their wealth from local bishops/stake presidents. You had to word an email in a specific way when setting up direct donation to headquarters. Several people tried to set it up so they could finish thei

on how to pay tithing without disclosing it to their home bishop. It is simple. The church is funded by the 80/20 rule. 80% of all tithes and offerings come from 20% of the membership, with the top 1% contributing close to 25%. Those are the ONLY ones they do not want browbeaten by bishops. The rest of the 19%, and the 80% that pay the widows mites have to be guilted and squeezed.

I was quite sincere in my advice to Lafayette. He has a real problem, not only with the understanding or being able to act on the social cues that lead to sex with wanton abandon, but also with the control mechanisms that were placed in him as a wee baby. We all have them, I put them in my kids. But most of us do not realize it and will not do it intentionally. I think growing a beard and

1) No means no for 24 hours? I am interested to see your thought process on that. 2) Never pay for it? We all pay, both males and females, sometimes the transaction is easy to understand and straightforward, sometimes not. But why not pay for it? (assuming consenting adults) 3)Definitely put her pleasure first, but do not stop her from putting your pleasure first if she wants to. 4)Yes,

Pay for it. Go high end ($500 or more per hour) and have her teach you how to make a woman happy. The confidence you gain will help you use your Aspergers to your advantage.

Rather than hijack the post that inspired this rant, A new thread has appeared. Other than getting rid of his personal bugaboo "mormon" all of the recent "revelations"/changes are part of a years long plan to mainstream TCOJCOTDS into a mainline evangelical faith. It will be shortened to Jesusland or something else later. While I have written in the past about the cash

I was in the temple, trying to put a square peg in a round hole for the 100th time, and I just asked god if he gave a shit... god said no, then he quit talking to me altogether. It was glorious.

So.... From my perspective she overreacted to the porn, was spot on about the lying. This is what shame and guilt do. He admitted he had a "problem". The problem was he was a normal male in a repressed society. And this girl has a wildly oversimplified and naive view of life. Both are the result of years of brainwashing by a religion that seeks to control and financially

I just watched the new and improved temple ceremony. Women will definitely be getting the priesthood outside the temple, perhaps next month. The new wording also set up gay marriage, separating sealing from marriage, no garments outside the temple... They are skipping gen x and going after young millennial and gen z

Research until you understand completely the sunk cost fallacy. If you already know what this is, how did the understanding of it affect your decisions when deciding whether to stay married?
