Let's see what the creative minds of this community can compose. I'll start with one or two. "You've aged well for a 20-year-old!" "Oh what rapture will fill your bosom!" Thus spake Mujun.

I never referred to myself as such. I used "ex-missionary" or "former missionary." Perhaps my rejection of the preferred nomenclature was one of the seeds of my apostasy. These days, I'm totally up-front and matter-of-fact about having been a Mormon missionary for two years in Japan, though I still don't use "returned missionary." Thus spake Mujun

Seriously, they are so vile. Mormon temples are full of octogenarians with bad eyesight, inflated ideas about their "reach," and urine that is dark yellow, bordering on orange. It's all over the lip of the porcelain, and in puddles on the floor. At least you can see it as you're trying to avoid stepping in it with white terry cloth slippers. I've been around the world, and I can't think

but it's not even my favorite Beatles album from 1967. While it's less cohesive in a collective sense and arguably falls short of the true definition of an album, I love Magical Mystery Tour. It had a much higher concentration of my favorite songs, and more of Lennon. Walrus > Lucy, but just barely. Thus spake Mujun.

I'm not a big fan of desert heat and spending half the year running from air conditioner to air conditioner, but a lot of people live in both places quite happily. Thus spake Mujun.

This was a few decades ago when they were in high school. They worked out a deal with local law enforcement to avoid any permanent record if they replaced all the mailboxes they had destroyed. The checker at K-mart asked why they were purchasing 15 mailboxes. My brother replied, "Oh, uh, Eagle Scout project." The checker said, "Oh, how nice!" Thus spake Mujun.

As I recall the wording of the white handbook, the rules for P-day clothing included "Always wear your missionary attire in public, unless it is not appropriate for a specific activity. My friend always said, "Our specific activity this P-day is wearing jeans and sweatshirts. Obviously, missionary attire is not appropriate for that specific activity." Thus spake Mujun.

The scammers had done their homework. I later explained to my son how the information they used was all from things he had published to social media. Fortunately, she was leery from the start and didn't pay. They hung up on her. Thus spake Mujun.

My oatmeal chocolate chip cookies get rave reviews at work and among friends. My salmon, grilled on a cedar plank over charcoal, is beloved by dinner guests. My Japanese curry over white rice is something I've been making for close to three decades. Thus spake Mujun.

This was about twelve years ago. It needed to happen, and I wasn't going to have a chance to tell her in person for many months. I opted to do it by telephone. It was pretty ugly. There was weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Loved ones who really believe are genuinely sad and distressed in those moments. They look for any theory they think will explain how you could have lost the spiri

Some cities resist Walmart. When they give in, they at least get some architectural concessions so the exterior of the store isn't quite so hideous. Burley actively courted Walmart and offered tax incentives. Locals thought it represented a step forward. J.C. Penney used to have downtown stores in Burley and Rupert. When the mall opened, those stores were consolidated. That's been nearly 40 ye

This online community can be a bit raw. Bring your own filter if you need one. Yes, a lot of people here seem angry and bitter. They're allowed to be, for as long as they need to be. When you realize that something to which you've devoted your life is false, that's a natural response. I retain a lot of close relationships with Mormon friends and family. That works for some ex-Mormons, and does
