My son is fully aware of my sexuality. He does not know I am married to a man, and maybe I was wrong for keeping that from him, but that is a decision I made.

He won't be able to read my e-mail until Monday, so I do have a couple of days to think I think about it. Your suggestions are all very helpful and greatly appreciated. Hope it works out well. Thank you all so much.

My son is serving a mission on the East coast, and will be returning home in a couple of months. Anyway...I received an e-mail from him this morning telling me that the missionaries have started occasionally teaching investigators via Skype. Some of the missionaries have gotten approval from the MP to teach non-member family members back home. Anyway...my son got permission to teach me and h

Make sure you find out what you truly want before you make any drastic decisions. Coming out, getting divorced, and living a genuine life was the greatest thing I have ever done for myself, but you really need to make sure the path you choose will be the right one for you. It was not easy, but I am so happy that I am on the other side of the issue that you described. This is a difficult thing,

AS for them coming around to the gay thing...they actually were getting much better but have really regressed a lot since all the court rulings in favor of Same Sex Marriage. I hope you are right, but I have big doubts.

his parents are fine. They live in Santiago which is quite far from the earthquake, but he has other relatives living in the Northern part of the country that we have not yet spoken to. We probably would have heard if something bad had happened to them, but the fact that my own family hasn't asked is what bothers me.

After the Chilean earthquake, one of my sisters (TBM all the way), sent out a Family e-mail asking all of us to pray for the missionaries in Chile. She pointed out how many missionaries there are there and that they need our prayers to be protected. I have zero problem with what she said, but I do take issue with what she neglected to say. My husband (we were married in California) is from Ch

I have spent the better part of the past 6 years trying to build and repair a relationship with my parents and siblings. Since coming out, leaving the church, getting divorced, and marrying the man I love, mature interaction with most of my family members has been non-existent. I truly feel that I have done all I can to foster a relationship. However, I am now officially giving up and have dec

I had the opportunity to speak to a very active, Utah County, LDS Bishop a couple of times over the past few weeks. I had the chance to listen to him speak to a group of people struggling with their sexuality. I approached him after the meeting, introduced myself, and gave him my number in case he ever wanted to talk again. Well...he called me on Friday, and we got together for lunch Saturday a

Although, it mostly just caused more pain, heartache, guilt, and self-loathing for guys who were already dealing with all of those things.

I can't tell you how many men met their significant others at Evergreen/Northstar, but it's not a small number.

I'm certain nothing was going to help, but telling me it's okay to for me to tackle a hot sweaty gay man was certainly not the answer.

I don't like to talk about my time at Evergreen/Northstar, but I do have to ask one question: How could an organization charged with helping gay men overcome those feelings believe that holding games of tackle rugby for their clients would be beneficial in accomplishing their stated goal? It is very counterproductive if you ask me and I don't see how any thinking person could possibly disagre

http://northstarlds.org/newsroom/leading-same-sex-attraction-ministry-organizations-for-latter-day-saints-to-unite-under-north-star-umbrella/ All I can say is that at least there is one fewer organization in the world that is creating false hope and damaging lives for gay men in the LDS church. For any of you that have ever been affiliated with either of these organizations, I feel for you.

My husband is not a US citizen - he was born and raised in Chile. Thanks to the DOMA ruling of earlier this year, he will no longer have to renew his visa each year. We are well into the process of getting his Permanent resident card approved - I am able to sponsor him for a "Green Card" as his spouse. This ruling in Utah has been wonderful for us, and there are definite reasons

One reason that I want to make sure my marriage is recognized in Utah is because I work for the state government and if I am legally married, then I should be able to add him to my employee-sponsored health benefits plan.

My husband and I were married in California earlier this year, but I don't know if we need to get married here in Utah as well. I called the SL County Clerk's office and was told that they will not issue a marriage license to us because we are already married. However, many of my friends, who were also married in California, did obtain a license and were married here as well. Nobody seems

Many people in Utah prayed for the passage of Prop 8 and touted God's hand in it's passage in 2008. Well...I have been praying for Judge Shelby to declare Amendment 3 to be unconstitutional. Is it wrong for me to claim the God answered my prayer? Serious question.
