And why didn't God use his wonderful foresight into preventing the Great Apostasy or the corruption of the Bible in the first place? Seems awfully convenient that the only time he was able to do that was with the lost 116 pages.

I found something in the Book of Mormon that doesn't seem internally consistent. 2 Nephi 29 -- ... 12 For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of t

There are currently 65,137 LDS missionaries in the mission field. It costs each family/ward/branch $400 per month to support a single missionary. The monthly cost of supporting missionaries comes to $26,054,800 per month, or $312,657,600 per year. So almost ⅓ of a BILLION dollars is being spent every year to convince people to join the Church the old fashioned way -- by young, indoctrinated

<fake puzzled> Strange, the One True Church in the Cosmos doesn't seem to have this proclamation on lds.org. Are they really so ashamed of God's direct commandments? </fake puzzled>

I'm LDS. I just have a lot of problems with the entire narrative and cling to a 20 millionth of a percentage of hope that someday, someone can somehow straighten out the deception and manipulation for me to become gung-ho once again about the Church. It seems to me that we should be looking for inconsistencies with the story we're taught. I mean you would do that with practically any other s

One giant red flag is that he couldn't reproduce the lost 116 pages and had god come up with the lamest cover story ever, saying that 2600 years ago god had such astounding wisdom that he had Nephi also take time, energy and produce the materials to record sort of the same story as Lehi just from Nephi's point of view because he knew he, Elohim, would cave to peer pressure and allow those pages t

Why didn'the Mormon God simply use "revelation" and the "spirit of prophecy" to recreate the necessary scriptures? Seems like lopping off Laban's head and stealing his property was a bit unnecessary. It seems far more likely that the story was merely a plot device created for the sole purpose of inducing fear.

I think I prefer the Spanish from Mexico City than to most other dialects because to me it was the clearest. Cuba and Puerto Rico have a very lazy way of stringing their words together and barely pronouncing some syllables. South American Spanish is cool because of the ll (zh) sound but not the easiest to decipher because they have a tendency to drop the "s" at the end of their words,

If Joseph Smith had metallic plates why didn't he make a paper rubbing of them? He could have taken a piece of paper, a pencil and quickly and precisely reproduced the Nephite characters. Instead he wrote a bunch of "caracters" down on a piece of paper and told Martin Harris to take them to New York for validation. These characters are clearly some idiot's attempt at making up a writ

So I followed the link that the missionary gave me. I found the document on the Word of Wisdom to be full of ellipses. Ellipses are fine if they don't change the meaning of the sentence but are not okay if they do. “A Word of Wisdom, for the benefit of the . . . church, and also the saints in Zion . . . " The first ellipse doesn't really change much. But the second one is where t

TL;DR: they firmly remain ignorant, make stuff up and bravely run away from the topic. I don't have much hope left of making Mormonism "true" in my mind. Example: Hi b, We are currently away watching a live worldwide broadcast. Watch Live Stream We invite you to participate and share your thoughts. Now chatting with: Bee Bee 8:56 AM Hi b! I said "no" on several occasions years ago. The first time was when the second counselor said I was called to be the Sunday School president. I actually laughed while declining. A few years later a bishop asked me to be a scout leader. I told him I didn't feel that I could do it because I didn't believe God existed and that God's existence is an axiom in scouting. I declined to be

So the Book of Ether isn't very consistent. It's actually nonsensical and stupid. One example is that in Ether 1:33 that god confounded the language of the people. Supposedly that would prevent their Middle Eastern construction project from continuing. Somehow in Ether 1:34 Mohonri Moriancumer, you know, of the Babylonian Moriancumers, managed to talk to his brother AFTER everyone's language

Dear God, I'm totally broken and in despair; have been for many months.  I go about my day wearing nightmare goggles and misinterpreting what people say to me.  So many emotional triggers everywhere.  Any one failure pulls all my failures back which re-envisions the multiple types of abuse and neglect back from the time I was young to the present and I relive everything over and over and
