First meetings have been cut down to 2 hours, and now he's getting the MormonSpam off my facebook feed for 10 whole days. I might have to de-apostatize now.

I'm going to have to stop trying to clarify anything for you since you're obviously not in a learning mood. Just stay tuned for the next case and we'll see what happens.

Maybe actually read the opinion. It is a very narrow ruling that does not address whether or not he was within his right to refuse service. That remains an open question which the opinion specifically states will have to be reckoned with at a later time.

It's not the same thing. You can decide what types of articles to write, what topics are OK and not OK for your conscience, etc. That's different from saying "I don't moonlight articles for people who are (gay, black, Jewish...).

Whether he offered to sell them anything else is irrelevant. He sells wedding cakes, they asked for a wedding cake, he denied them a wedding cake. I can see him denying them a rainbow colored wedding cake or a wedding cake emblazoned with "Can't wait to **** you in the *** tonight!" as being within his rights, but the issue is that he refused to provide the same product for them as he m

From what I've read, that appears not to be accurate. The baker himself says that their conversation was limited to "sorry guys, I don't do cakes for same sex weddings" and lasted no more than 20 seconds. As to the ruling, the court did not make any determination as to which side of Colorado's anti-discrimination law the baker falls on, and whether or not his religious exemption is vali

The 40th anniversary of the revelation extending the priesthood to all worthy males has really inspired me. Even though I'm not in the church anymore, I want in on the fun, so I think I'll organize my own little shindig. What are the do's and do not's of throwing a "Look at me, I'm not a racist (anymore)" party?

I think there's a fundamental misunderstanding of the facts of the case. Nobody is asking anyone to make a cake they don't normally make, or provide any service they don't normally provide. The crux of the issue, from my perspective anyway, is that services shouldn't be selectively provided based on sexual orientation (or religion, or race, etc.). For example, a restaurant in Utah should be able

Probably has to do with the fact that you don't live your life as a woman. If you decide to live your life as a woman, then feel free to use the women's restroom or whatever. Personally, I'll shower in the privacy of my own home, thank you very much!

I suppose the Catholic church has a little something for every kind of ex-Mormon. If you just want a place to go when you feel like a little good old fashioned church-going, but don't want to be committed to endless meetings and assignments and paying 10% of your income, the Catholic church is a great option. On the other hand, if you want to hang out with fanatics who can't keep their noses out

Your husband sounds like a stand up guy. I'd have called the police if some stranger showed up at my door asking for the personal information of household members.

You see, many plain and precious truths have been lost from the Bible. Basically anything in the Bible that's inconvenient or contradictory to modern revelation.

In the context of ancient history, barbarian is a perfectly acceptable word. I don't know how much history you know, but a lot of what happened wasn't nice.

Why not just say "please respect the speakers by paying attention to them"? I guess it's their wifi, their rules, and if they said "if you're really so bored, you could just leave" the place might empty out pretty quick.

Depends on where you're looking. If you look for love, you can probably find it. If you look for hate, you can definitely find it.

I'm sorry, but I'm not a fan of "you caught me, and I'm truly sorry" apologies. And I don't really buy the hacking thing. "I don't believe I wrote those things" is not good enough. If it's not clear as day that you never said those things, you can't hide behind the excuse that perhaps you said them, but you hope you didn't. Own up to what you did, don't make excuses.

Chatting with newbie mishies is fun! The poor souls don't know thing one about theology, religion, or the world in general asid from what they picked up in Sunday school and canned "seminary" lessons. Also, no real communiacation skills or meaningful training. Just "here's the computer, click here to get started, and remember your training (which isn't actual training)!" It co
