I'm pretty sure he preferred Cabernet Sauvignon to Pinot Noir. Although he probably had Merlot from time to time.

Funny stuff. The Hinkster had a little Freudian slip there.

Yes, this is what ex-mormonism is all about. Light mindedness, loud laughter and evil speaking of the lord's self-appointed. Ain't it great?

Don't like the products, don't like the business model, don't like Mr. VanderSloot. They do put on a pretty good fireworks show though.

"I make a record in the language of my father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians" You know, after brother Joseph dictated this he stopped and pulled his face out of his hat, and asked his scribe if in ancient times there really were Jews in Jerusalem. He was told that yes, there were Jews living in Jerusalem. Joseph then looked relieved and

...many of the Mormons will, no doubt, remove in the Spring, and many more will remain here; and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to have a mixed society, in Nauvoo as in other cities, and all exclusive religious distinctions abolished. I must now say, that I never for a moment believed in what my husband called his apparitions and revelations, as I thot him laboring under a diseased

I would repent real hard while the priests were saying the prayer. I would sit there and pray for forgiveness of all the sins I had committed during the week. Of course I never felt good about myself or that my sins were ever forgiven but it made it easier to take the sacrament. When I got older they emphasized "renewing the covenants you made at baptism." Of course, I sure as hell d

Challenge him to miss four weeks of church in a row. Promise him that he will be happier as a result.

I guess what bothers me about him is he is so smug and should know better. I think he is smarter than the average mopologist. It is like he knows it is probably all a fraud but has deliberately decided to be on the side of the believers. I can't stand to listen to more than about a minute of him and then I'm done.

I used to have to call people to pray in sacrament and the youth to give talks. Most had no problem with it, a few said no way. I didn't push it as I felt sorry for them. I really hated calling and asking. I think I hated calling people to give prayers and talks more than being asked. So glad that is behind me.

As a Morgbot one of the things I was totally naive about was how to make coffee. I seriously am an idiot about how to make a simple pot of coffee. So I bought one of those Keurig machines you see on QVC that has all these little Keurig cups with different flavors of coffee. Love it. My favorite is Newman's Organic.

Let's see. The universe is still slowly expanding from the last big bang. At some point in a few billion years it all collapses upon itself... then another big bang and the cycle is repeated. So in about 7 billion years we will all be here again on RfM. Rinse and repeat. Expand, contract. Expand, contract.

Unfortunately my experience has been that most of my old friends are active. They admire Thomas Monson, Uchtdorf,Bednar, Hinckley, mormon missionaries, etc. Their favorite books always include the BoM. They post stupid, mindless GA quotes for their status, etc. It makes me so sad.

I was in Japan and have noticed a pretty high percentage of RMs from there who go inactive. Of the 10 mishies who were with me and entered the MTC I think about half are no longer active. One I have stayed in touch with resigned a couple of years ago. I thought it was a difficult mission. Others really liked it, I was really sick of it and very homesick by the end. It took me a few years befor

I don't think it shocked him. I haven't been to church for a couple of years now. But it wasn't that long ago that I had a stake calling and all that jazz, ie, high priest, clerk in bishopric, etc. They don't know what to do about people like me who were valiant, super scripture reader etc. He couldn't resist feeling me up though.

I usually wear a colored shirt to keep the idiots guessing but today I had on a white dress shirt and (gasp!) no garments. The SP gave me the old garment feel up. Oh well. Hey, it's hot out there. What kind of idiot would wear clown underwear in this weather?

If he had just left his garments on this wouldn't have happened. He would have been spared. The mob had no power over him until he took off those garments. Once the garments were taken off, the powers of hell were unleashed. Pretty simple really.

A few that come to mind: When I was younger, they pushed fasting at least 2 meals on fast Sunday. Now fasting is hardly ever mentioned. They used to make a big deal about not consuming caffeinated drinks, now it seems to be ok unless you are uber TBM. Just don't drink coffee. I don't hear talk of becoming Gods anymore. I don't hear talk of having more than one wife in the celestial ki

Not so much a wrong conclusion. It just ignored the real efforts of family members and highlighted Mr. GA showing up at the last minute for his accolades. It really made it obvious to me how church publications are just propaganda.
