There was nothing "holy or kindly" about these old frontier Mormons. I believe today we would call them psychopaths and sociopaths.

Family reunions, I don't really enjoy much, but the annual reunions I have with the guys I served with in Vietnam are the best! Shared wartime experiences make for some lasting and strong bonds.

I used to be a TBM and I am now returned to my previous catholic roots based in the Anglican tradition. I think He, Jesus, will at some point return. When is unimportant. What is important, in my opinion, is to follow Christ's teachings, as best I can, and serve my fellow man with love. He will come when He does if that is during my lifetime or not is of no concern of mine nor should be the conce

We've been married for 48 1/2 years. It has been a ride with both ups and downs, but it is a journey upon with I've been accompanied by my best friend. I wouldn't have missed this trip for anything.

You have got to love Texas weather in the spring. I got my new roof last October to cover the damage from the March 2016 storm. I had a class IV roof then and do again. It held up pretty good, but Mother Nature won out in the end.

Come on Dave, that's an unfair judgement you have concerning Texans. In another Texas fire bombing of a mosque, the perpetrator was a member of that very organization.

It was in the 70s today but a cold front is coming. It is supposed to only get up into the 50s once the front passes thru. Right now I'm out on the patio in a short sleeved t-shirt smoking and drinking coffee.

I used to them but that ended after I resigned from the church and the Navy.

Move to Dallas. I just checked my thermometer on the patio and it is 80. Oh, that's right we are supposed to get a cold front tonight. We might get down to 50.

You know when my kids were young I had then believing that I had Santa's 800 number and I would call him to make sure that he put them on the naughty list when they deserved it. It did not deter the naughtiness entirely but it was fun for me to scare them a little.

I went to church. Not my local LDS chapel which is about 1/2 mile from my house but instead to my closest Anglican parish probably two to three miles away. It is much friendlier and holds more meaning for me. As for the rest of the day, I think I'll watch some football and smoke my pipe. Oh, I'll also drink some coffee.

Sounds like "themaster" lives close to me. We suffered the same drop in temperature. Makes for some cold smoke out on the patio; my wife will not let me light up in the house. In fact I am thinking it time again to light up. Luckily for me our patio faces to the south and the temp out there is about eight degrees warmer than the official airport temp.

My wife and I got married in the chapel with the walk down the isle and everything. Immediately afterward we jumped in the car, went to our hotel and a couple of days later we were in St.George. We had a letter from the 1st Pres. to the temple pres. waving the year wait. Worked out. We are still married 48 years later and we are no longer members.

I went through in 1968 with all the gory details. It made me believe that there had really been Danites and that back in the day people suffered violently for betraying TSCC.

Oh, come now. C.S. Lewis is a far, far more intelligent gentleman than any of the GAs could ever aspire to be and they know it. Since he is so highly regarded within the real Christian world by quoting the man they are hoping some Christianity rubs off on them and they fool some into believing that they too are indeed Christian as well.

I kicked and screamed for a very long time before leaving the church. It was a difficult process. All of my family had preceded my departure and I was very determined to remain in the church, but reason and intellect won out in the long run. Once I was satisfied that the church was not, as it claimed, the true church; I then departed and joined with my family on our journey to the outside togethe

Well, I made it to 71 and it feels the same as 70. When I told my youngest grandson I was 71 he looked at me seriously and asked if I was going to die now. Gosh, I hope not too soon because I have a lot left undone.

Is this a Utah ward? I was always in the mission field and we would only get a GA for maybe one stake conference a year, maybe fewer. I've been out twenty years so things may be different since they've increased the numbers by changing the Seventies into GAs. Back in the day I was a seventy and we joked about ordaining seventies into inactivity.

Boy, do I remember the times I paid faithfully. The first thing I paid was the tithing and things were tight. I was crazy back then. I sure am glad I finally came to my senses. Too bad it took thirty years!

I had an uncle who converted to Judaism and he used to comment that he found it amusing how the Mormons called the Jews gentiles. We had a very ecumestic family at one time made up of Protestants, Jews and Mormons. Now all that remain are Protestants and Jews. I guess my blood changed again after I resigned as did all of my Mormon family who now don't believe.
