I've touched my weenie. Sometimes even stroked it to climax. And as everyone knows, that means Magic Jeezus had to die, long before I was born, to atone for my masturbation. It's as clear as mud.

1980. On my mission. I desperately prayed to get some indication that the church was "true." No answer of any kind. In fact, there's no evidence of any kind any prayer I prayed was ever answered in any way. Which is one reason I stopped doing it 39 years ago.

"I'm ruining their perfect day by not being in the photos." They're going to dress up in wacky clothes and hats, and do ripped-off Masonic handshakes, and be married without people they care about being able to be there. THAT is ruining a "perfect day." Not you. Just FYI, I was already out of the church in all but name when my brother got married in the SLC temple.

I'd venture that it's because dead people are...dead. Expired. Ex-people. They are no more. They have ceased to be. (with apologies to Monty Python) :)

Lot's Wife (as she usually does) explained things well. I couldn't do another religion after mormonism. Simply because to get out of mormonism meant I had to stop taking things on "faith," and start using facts instead. Once I began doing that, taking things on "faith" again simply wasn't going to work. And all religions require taking things on "faith." I

...and others. The 1934 Tydings–McDuffie Act, known as the Philippine Independence Act limited Filipino immigration to the U.S. to 50 persons a year. The Luce-Celler Act of 1946 that gave the Philippines a quota of 100 persons a year. That ended in 1965, when quotas by race/country were abolished. The US promised Filipinos who enlisted in the US armed forces during WWII citizenshi

Interesting mormonism parallel: When I was a mishie in France, we did the Paris "catacombs" tour. On the tour, someone asked the guide if this was where the nuns would come and hide the skeletons of the babies they had when raped by priests. The tour guide, apparently a devout catholic, said that rumors of such things were completely false, that nothing of the sort ever occurred,

So, then, the JWs are lying when they make their statement above...since the mormon section clearly showed a dozen or so quotes stating the opposite of the JW statement? Or are they all just making it up as they go along? I will add one thing about JWs: that may be their official statement, but it's not always their practice. They're at least as bad about shunning non-faithful family memb

"The Church takes no position on the specific geographic location of Book of Mormon events in the ancient Americas." Gee, if only they had a living prophet kind of guy, who could ask Elohim what the actual geography is, and teach it to the saints...

Spot on. And not just "stories" -- flat-out lies. Have you seen the bigger piggies, in their starched white shirts? You will find the bigger piggies, stirring up the dirt. Always have clean shirts...to play around in! (The Beatles)

I don't know if there's a basis or not. Neither do you. Time for a doctor visit, I think... But you already knew that, huh? I understand that you might not, in some ways, *want* to know if there's really something to worry about. Nobody wants to find out they're starting Alzheimer's or dementia. But, please...do go get checked by the professionals. And let us know how it turns out?

I was going to offer another "reading" with exactly the same odds of being right about the sex of your first child...but for $1.50, it's not really worth it :) I have indeed had my "fortune told." The practicioner tossed me out. Because every cold-reading trick to weasel information out of me got no reaction whatsoever, not allowing her to narrow down the generalities i

"Hotel California" by the Eagles was banned from our 70's stake dances. I thought it was because of the overall "theme." Then one dance, when we had a band instead of records, they played it -- replacing "...this could be heaven or this could be hell..." with "..this could be heaven or this could be lower..." And it was "approved." So the

Leonardo did much the same. So did Galileo. So did a lot of people I admire. Generally, I eschew "instructions" and just find my own way. Which is the example these people set. Is that a contradiction? If it is, I can live with it :) Nice post.

Perhaps in the EU, where they have a "right to be forgotten" law, you could successfully demand your removal from familysearch, and sue if churchco didn't comply. In the US, we have no such law. And since the information is put there mostly by "volunteers," willingly, just who to sue might be unclear. I suspect in the US there's no codified right to have your information
