Thanks for the stories raptor. I don't think I have really directly talked to you on the board, but I read your comments daily and get a good laugh. Hope things are well!

A seminary teacher told my class that you shouldn't pray to ask if you should go on a mission. He said since the prophet tells you to go you need to just go. What a bunch of bullshit. You can't have any kind of personal relationship with god? If you are told to do something by the prophet you can't think for yourself or question? If there was a god then two years of your life would certainly

i have become a lot more skeptical of people. I don't trust everything I hear. I use to trust people because I looked up to them as smart. Now I feel like I have to rely on myself a lot more and watch who I give my money to.

I think Heresy has a good point. Chances are Monson will out live Packer. That would be funny having Packer as the prophet

emmas comment above mine looks like the best. Just try to encourage religious discussion and slowly throw in the inaccuracies of the church and ask lots of thought provoking questions without challenging her.

I don't go to BYU but have friends who do. Lets just say in the whole city of Provo it is probably the second highest mormon population next to Rexburg. You better stay away from Sex, Alcohol, coffee and anything else or you will get kicked out of the school. Very strict. Mine as well just live at home because all the rules are kind of like living with parents.

Make it very sincere. Say sincerly that you have been struggling because and then go into book of abraham, brigham young, joseph smiths wives, black people being less valiant, lack of evidence, things like steel, animals and plants not even being in americas when BOM was written. Then say even though there is undeniable evidence disproving the church you like it because it makes you a good pers

I'm sure god wouldn't hold it against you. Although, everyone here has seen the effects that this religion has had on our minds and would strongly suggest a different route. This religion plays with your mind and is driven by guilt. It will make you feel like total shit if you let it. I'd say stay away.

It's tough to come to the conclusion that this church is false. Most people aren't here to bash. Most Mormons are good people, but the religion is not true. I agree to study that mormonthink.com website. I like you wanted both sides because I didn't want to read "anti". After reading that whole mormonthink site it became inevitable that the church wasn't true. Some people on this

I can completely emphasize with you. I am 17 almost 18 and I go to church just out of respect, but I am an open agnostic lol. Imagine how that goes over in church haha. It actually makes it more amusing going to church and saying you are agnostic. Anyways if you ever want to talk or anything don't be shy and send me an email! I have talked to a few other people my age from this board and it

be the bigger man. Don't play his games. Whether you believe it or not his problem is problem eating him away. We all know how guilt works in TSCC. That's all the punishment that man needs.

I have two years of college left and I am planning on going to Utah state. I am 18 years old. What is the Mormon influence like there? Will I get a somewhat real college experience there? I basically see my options as either Utah state or University of Utah. The reason I am thinking Utah State is because it is not a commuter school and it seems like a very social place. I am not considering

Wow. well great article. This church is pretty similar to TSCC. Still I think I might rather be an Aventists rather than a mormon. Or better yet neither.

I am somewhat familiar with the Adventists church. But what exactly does this religion consider a sin. Can you have premarital sex? I assume theirs no food or drink restrictions. And how much is their tithing?

alright I get what you guys are saying about how we have all been offended, but clearly this was not the teachers meaning of offended. This teacher was talking more about things like the milk story and people leaving just out of spite of other people. He meant members offending other members. I don't think he realized that the church was actually the offensive ones. The quote "The church

This is my senior year and the seminary teacher gave a lesson on how there are only two reason people leave the church. 1. They were offended 2. They sinned I couldn't help but notice the ignorance in this lesson. I couldn't help but mention the BIG third reason. I raised my hand "I don't have a problem with the church because of sin, or because I was offended, I have a problem with

For me it all started with one simple question. People would always say we are now in the last days. I kept thinking if we are in the last days then 99.99% of everyone who is on the earth and who has been on the earth never would have even heard about this religion. So what is the point of the religion??? Long story short it led me to read the whole mormonthink.com website and here I am.

Mormonthink.com was by far the best for me. It didn't scare me away and it really got me thinking. It shows both sides witch is a plus, but it is pretty obvious that the church isn't true

I personally wouldn't show him these things yet. I would wait and if he was ever about to join the TSCC then I would show him. 11 is to early in my opinion.

Mormonthink.com is my favorite. It kind of looks at things from both sides, so when I was tbm it wasn't as scary as a pure anti site. Good site to send others to also.

My girlfriend and I walked into one of our classes together and the TBM teacher told her that her skirt was to short. To witch I replied there is no such thing.

A little background I am 18 and have my associates degree and am working towards a bachelors in finance and also in economics. I was talking to my cousin the other day who is a girl. She is a return missionary and is 23. She asked me if I was going to go on a mission and I said no. She then proceeded to tell me that she had a friend who didn't go on a mission and he is a drug dealer. I am 5
