Your strategy of embarrassing them left a deeper psychological impression on the elder than had you used physical intimidation.

Hi Dagny! 1. felt the July 4th 6.4, but thought it was a local 3-4 quake. 2. Slept through the early Friday aftershock. 3. Felt the 7.1 for about 20 seconds on Friday evening. Down here in south OC, shaking was only mild.

The heir apparent is the one who has served longest as an apostle (Quorum of the 12), rather than tenure as a Seventy.

Do you think there are significant numbers who use patron housing to organize low-cost tourism vacation (i.e. people who live near temples back home, but who do a session per day and otherwise sightsee)??

Larger temple info pages often list "patron housing" as an amenity. Who uses it? Members who've made a long journey and want to spend all day doing temple work? Or members who are essentially tourists who do one or two sessions a day in exchange for free lodging? Reason I ask is that the schedule for the Rome temple shows only two weekday sessions, either two morning or two eveni

When I first found the RFM board in 2000, she was posting as "SusieQ", and several years later her handle changed to "SusieQ#1". I can't remember the details---did a troll try to assume her identity/handle, forcing her to change her ID? Of all her posts, my favorite was her account of her endowment, wearing a white nurse's uniform dress and stockings over her full-length ga

I have an employee who was LDS (now inactive though not resigned) who once attended a reception on a Thursday at a nice local hotel; sit-down dinner was included. She said one reason was to obtain better midweek rates, rather than pay premium rates for a Saturday reception, in particular when most of the guests can't attend the reception anyway. Hotel ballrooms that are busy Fri-Sat-Sun with c

Frank's clothing in downtown SLC was owned by a Jewish family. The owner's son and grandkids lived around the corner from me in San Diego. The son was a nonobservant/assimilated M.D. whose protestant wife was an attorney and Texas native (they met in grad school at the U.). Evidently, Frank's is where GAs shopped for fine suits, and the grandparents knew many LDS elites on a first name basis.
