My two cents. Marriage love does ebb and flow as you say. I do not live in your situation or even pretend to understand fully, but a couple points come to mind for what it is worth. 1. Can you turn the tide? Is it possible to stear this marriage back in a positive direction? Slow work certainly. Or is there a deal breaker such as abuse etc? 2. Divorce of my parents calmed the situation

I feel anger at times through this process, and I was one who posted about a wave of anger. All I have to say is that being able to get those feelings out in text helped me let it go and then having a few kind people remind me that that is okay made me feel like someone had my back and I am grateful to them, thank you.

We are over 500k saved if we include moderate potential interest earned but not more missions, etc. Wow. You made my day!

I have heard about the Unitarian organization. Could you sum it up, do you like it? We have been all around and many churches feel like an infomercial, a sales pitch, etc. Do they do things like baptisms, etc? We want to teach high principles and serve those in need, social too.

Church history brushes over "unedifying" info then anti-mormon liturature puts it in a "sinister light." JS adultery and child rape (14 year old and teenage "wives") put in a sinister light. How did you put that in a good light? Right, you don't understand all things right now. I understand my morals. Deep down you know it too.

Have you tried "We really miss you too, so we wanted to invite you down to visit us for (insert activity) at our house?" They can either agree or back down the guilt trip. I feel ya, our family is similar, mad if we're not there or don't care much if we are.

Yes, we have tried other religions. My kids want it and I think at first I did too. I had hoped for a group organized to serve the poor and in need, also to help my kids adjust to the new situation leaving mormonism. Churches seem odd in general now, maybe too ritualistic after the bad experience with mormonism. But I think something as humans draws us to things of the spiritual nature. I d

A topic I have been thinking about lately also! I haven't come to any definite conclusions either but a couple thoughts; Bibically men were circumcised as a symbol ritual of faith, when this became an issue with converts it was decided it wasn't necessary for salvation. Some religions say baptism or hell. I'm not buying that, just cannot believe it. It's like saying if you didn't take

Thank you for the comments and support, the anger hits hard sometimes and I greatly appreciate your thoughts. This church is now going after the poorest of the poor in Africa, knowing in what ways we suffer(ed) and their circumstances being monumentally harsher, it is appalling. And yes, I think deceit, abuse, misrepresentation, extortion, slaunder and harassment, etc should be held acc

Another wave of anger. I hoped these would go away! The leaked document about tithing in Africa sparked a nerve! Years we sacrificed basic needs (food, medical, etc) for our family to faithfully pay tithing resulting in major ongoing health issues. Also mental issues from fear of financial ruin and emotional trama from the continual messages of 'Never Good Enough." I want my health bac

So, do they make money off of the billion graves app too? Are they still making money by selling the indexing info? Clean the building, index so it can be sold. Child labor, they are always creative with their finances.

Write it down, a summary of all your reasons to leave (history, morals, scripture, reason, etc) I knew I needed to do this, and it became very long! I knew I would forget my reasoning and panic. When it was all done, the evidence was overwhelming, I realized there was no conceivable way I could find thst it could be true. Beware the fear tactics, you have been trained to fear leaving this ch

It is misrepresentation and fraud, and their essays not only admit it but prove they continue the fraud with full knowledge.

Could she be warning you about the similar condition you mentioned your daughter struggles with? Is it possible the deceased may have experienced some sort of abuse she wants to warn others about?

Sorry, I meant Solomon's Songs not Psalms is what I don't believe is inspired! Christianity does not hang on a testimony of Joseph Smith! Christianity existed long before him. But being lied to and manipulated this badly will affect a person!

Wow, completely inaccurate statements with leaps in drawing conclusions! The reader comments are disturbing. The different first vision accounts are entirely different, not nearly the same. Polygamy in the Bible (Sariah begging Abraham to marry another to have children then recognizing it as a mistake) not the same as JS telling a 14 year old she had to marry him for her family's salvation

How about reasoning that you are looking for a bank account with better interest or one connected to a credit card to help build credit for future big purchases (car) or with cash back rewards or other incentives?

Found any polite ways to tell friends and family you left and keep a good relationship? I'd rather just say something than it crop up at some uncomfortable time or be the gossip of a wedding or something. When someone asks I don't even know where to start, there are many major doctrinal, historical and moral reasons. It is just all a big lie and I don't want them to be lied to and deceived

I really don't think so, that cognitive dissonance as we know since we have been there! Spoke with my family last week, they tell me there is a church history class (institute maybe?) that should have a disclaimer that you need a strong testimony before you take the class. So, you need a strong testimony that your church is right to convince yourself that wrong things are okay? The

Thank you, all of you! It really is an experience that makes me question everything at times. I am grateful to not be alone! I am done worshiping a church, Christ as my focus is why I left. What is the worse that can happen if I spend my life trying to love and serve others in humility? Everyone has their take on what is required to enter heaven, that gets a little frustrating. I love the s

Appologies, there are so many. Today auto email to me urging us to sacrifice for indexing and temple work. Curiosity leads me to wonder why the push, other than temple = tithing. Quick search $60 million deal with ancestry.com in 2013 for all that volunteer work done with microfiche and indexing. Just reminds me of all the other dishonesty, unpaid clergy, polygamy and on.
