Thanks for the insight. I am so intrigued by the history of Joseph's children. I feel so sad for David. Emma should have been honest with him about polygamy, just like the church should have been with it's members. I don't know how they can say, with a straight face, that they haven't hidden anything. Nine years ago, I spoke with my bishop and stake president about the fact that Joseph was marri

Thank you for sharing. It makes me wonder if Joseph Smith would have practiced polygamy if he knew it would be the undoing of his own son.

Did he committ himself? How fragile was his mental state at the time?

I never understood the purpose of tithing settlement. If you know how to calculate 10% of a number you know what you should pay. Why meet with the bishop?

I loved that show as a child. Still love the music. I hold hope that he recovers.

If anyone can answer this, with confidence, I would appreciate it. I am beginning to think the church monitors/hacks this site and knows who is posting. Could this be true? Does anyone here know?

Last f&t mtg., a man from a nearby ward got up and talked about how he hadn't been to church in 45 years, until he returned in 20teen something. However, even though he didn't attend, he ALWAYS paid his tithing, knowing he couldn't obtain heaven if he didn't. He proceeded to take out his recommend and show it to the congregation, while stating the things you need to do to obtain the celestial

Once before I got to Sacrament mtg, my husband sat in a pew that we normally didn't sit in - no big deal right? Um, wrong. The woman who usually sat there with her family came and said it was their seat, and asked him to move. Another woman, in the pew behind him agreed with her, saying, "Yes, that's where they sit" My husband is very polite and would never cause a problem or a scene.

We can let him know that he will likely regret the deal. Once you have kids their needs come first.

I am always amazed when 500 a month is perceived as an acceptable amount of child suppor, when that amount truly only covers the cost of food.

I live in Southern California and have only noticed a couple people leave due to learning truths. I do believe I have been shunned and suspect it is the protocol leaders are instructed to follow nowadays. A friend of mine, he is also the husband of a close friend, is on our stake high council. I can think of a handful of times at social events, and at church, where he has completely ig

I wish I knew at a young age too. I looked at the church as a solution to everything. If I just do this, and this, and this, and...my life and eternity will be perfect. Not so, as we know.
