So my Mom just dropped off 3 boxes of my stuff that was in her attic from about 9 to 10 years ago. This was right after my mission and full of church related things. I'm basically agnostic now but reading through old journal entries, church documents with my notes, mission letters, etc, it makes me almost want to cry. I feel like I'm throwing out things that were super important to me at one poin

I'm the guy who told my wife that I didn't believe in God anymore back in June. It was super rough and we almost got divorced. The last 2 months have been great, we don't really mention it much and our love for each other was as high as ever. We watched conference yesterday (I'm trying to be as gentle as possible and make things as normal as possible for her). Today my wife had to work throug

Hey everyone, just wanted to update you on my situation. It's been 6 weeks since I told my wife I didn't believe in God anymore. It has been pretty rough. The first day she was in shock. Second and third days, she was mad and sad. Then we went about a week where things were great. Two weeks pass and she has a breakdown and says she is going to divorce me and I betrayed her etc. Sunday morning

Honestly, I complained about the Trane units having bad parts but as a purchaser you don't really need to worry about that, the installer does (which is why I was complaining lol) Once they get it going, even if they have to replace parts, it should run just fine. I honestly couldn't say how much more cost there is between manufacturers unfortunately because we buy these buy the dozens usually

I'm actually an HVAC engineer so I was surprised and delighted to see your post. Trane units have gone downhill recently for some reason, as someone else pointed out. There are always bad parts when my company installs Trane until! That being said they'll do the trick once they get going. 2.5 tons does seem a bit small as someone else said. What is your square footage? Two story or single? I

That's interesting to hear that people go through an atheist phase. I wonder if that will be the case with me. Honestly, atheist is just a term I use to get my point across. If there is a loving God I am totally open to receiving a sign. However, he's been silent for 29 years now. Thanks for your comments.

Yeah, my plan was to tell her only about my lack of belief in the church but it slipped out (because I was being totally open probably).

Yeah, I've told her that I don't believe she was bad. Also, I told her if she believes in repentance, God isn't holding a grudge now is he? She just needs time I think.

I don't know if you guys remember me or not but in November I got your advice on how to tell my wife I didn't believe in the church anymore. She was pregnant and I received some advice from some of you that I should wait until the baby was born so she could have a peaceful pregnancy. I took that advice and our beautiful boy was born. I blessed him about 3 weeks ago. I finally got up the courage t

Do you think "the brethren" actually still believe everything? Or are they "woke" but in too deep? Or are they just power hungry? Personally, I think they're still believers or at the most "woke." I think if they were intentionally deceiving people they would live more extravagant lives.

Hey everyone, it's that time of the year lol. I purposely "forgot" to go to out tithing settlement interview. Then last week I received a text from the secretary asking if we could reschedule. I didn't know what to do so I just ignored him. I'm HOPING he doesn't chase me down during church. Not that I care but my wife would feel embarrassed if I said I don't want to go. I never real

Thanks for your responses everyone. I don't have a lot of private time to spend on here to write back to everyone but I have carefully read your responses and I appreciate the advice and experiences. I'm going to hold tight until our baby is born at least.

Thanks for your responses everyone! It's nice to read about your experiences. There is some conflicting advice which makes sense I guess, because everyone is different. For now, it seems the best thing for me to do is tell her in the coming weeks that I don't believe anymore. Then I think I can still continue to attend sacrament meeting and classes with her for at least a few months while I hopef

Hey peeps, nice to meet you all, this seems like a nice forum. I'm just beginning my exit from religion and the mormon church (although not a soul yet knows besides me and now you guys). Little about me: born in the covenant, had a wonderful experience in the church for the most part. 28 years old now, married, kid on the way. Served a mission in Brazil. Finished my engineering degree last yea
