The Constitution hanging by a thread meant to JS that religious freedom to fuck as many women as your little heart desired would be in jeopardy. When it was, BY didn’t ride in on a white horse. He caved. Mormons of today only think it means your right to own assault weapons and shoot as many kindergarteners, high schoolers, concert attendees and peaceful protesters as your little heart desires,

Jealous. We have a set of pandas at our zoo. I think there are only 6 zoos in the country thar do. They tried for a decade to get a baby out of it. I guess it may be too late now. But we get baby giraffes every year and they are adorable. Last year we got a baby hippo. Too stinkin cute.

If you don’t feel a compelling reason, stay a member and bring their numbers down. You will know when there’s a reason. In the meantime they’ll ignore you. My ex is still a member in good standing and he has been picking up hookers for 20 years. I love to tell people he’s a Mormon.

Just try not to take out any privately held student loans unless you’re sure of the income you will have afterward. Keep them govt secured. There are options to keep the payments income based that way. I deal with this on a daily basis and sometimes want to cry when I see the pit many young people have dug themselves into. Hell, even many parents.

This cracks me up. I keep seeing the sheeple post that meme about how lucky they are that they had prophets who prepared them for this day and have been telling them for decades to have storage and be preppers. Sounds like they weren't prepared. So what good is their old geezer "prophet?" Our stores our out of TP but I haven't seen anything like the news stories I see out of places

Nor do they overwhelm hospitals making them have to triage car wreck patients. It's a sad fact that most car accident deaths are DOA.

Why don't they just release anyone who has served more than a year, and assign the others to be stake missionaries until they have done it a year. Then when they can start sending them out again, let anyone who had served less than a year who WANTS to go back out, re-apply and go. And the others, just let them have an honorable release. Any parent who would push them to go back out needs a goo

I really think there are more and more people feeling this way. It's their tribe and I get it. In fact, a recent trip made me do a lot of thinking about my family and as long as they leave me alone, I really don't think I'd like to see any of them come out of the church. Especially the ones living in the Moridor. They don't really have any other interests or friends. The thing that is going

I was in a loveless marriage. I think I knew that from the start, but we were young mormons and in lust for awhile. I envy people who truly feel love in marriage, even when (especially when) the lust decreases or even goes by the wayside. There's a difference. I could live with love but no lust. But not the other way around. So love (i.e., in relationships) has a lot more to do with respect

who'd want to delay it? It's the best part of life. Just take hormones until you're through it, then enjoy.

There are no questions I have anymore, let alone big ones. I am here. All I need to know is that I should do the absolute best I an while I tarry. I will die. Anything after that will manifest itself at that time. If doing my best wasn't good enough for what comes next, something's really fucked up.

By the time my father died there had been SO many "he won't make it long" moments, I mean like 20 years of it, that it was just kind of like "Oh, it really happened." I waited to feel something, but never did. I realized that the times when I felt ok being around my dad--when my kids were young and enjoyed their grandparents as he enjoyed spoiling them, were long gone. There

Well, you just made TBMs want to get there even more. Tell them it's Disneyland and they'll pay 20% tithing. I'm glad I don't have to worry about going anywhere at all and will truly be getting eternal rest. If (Big IF) there is something after death, I'll find out then. I don't believe there is any consciousness after the brain waves finally quit functioning (it may take just a little while

I'd imagine that Russ knows he won't be around long and wants Wendy to be able to still have the happy relationship she had before she became his new public trophy wife in a marriage that had many benefits for both of them, and in the long run for Sherri as well. No matter what her sexual orientation, she may have never or probably has rarely been called upon to be a physical partner to him. An

And then when you finally do CHOOSE the right and decide to leave their cult, it's "wait a minute, we didn't mean choose what's right for you, we meant choose what's right for our bank account."

It just doesn't take that long for a temple to pay for itself in increased tithing revenues. They call people who live close to "work" in them, do the cleaning, grounds work, etc. In order to do that you have to pay the full dues to keep your pass. Then the wards can have more temple nights that keep the pressure on people because it becomes much more obvious who is and isn't there.

It's good as long as they don't start making rules like "no sex until you're sealed" or crap like that. Let couples have a real wedding. Let the bride where her beautiful wedding dress to actually get married in without all the ugliness covering it and that stupid veil with the bow. Let the whole family come. I don't care who you are, there are always family members (even if it's ju

For some really weird reason, I find some vindication in this article. I guess it's knowing that an abuser finally got his dues and that the cult that felt justified in telling him he had repented of it got their dues in the negative publicity that they got. I never confronted my abuser. And the story is very similar, I was a young teen, it was fondling with no penetration and it only happen

Martha Beck had the best spot-on description of it. She called it pantomiming our own violent demise. That's what it was. And I know I can't be the only one who was thinking to myself, "oh, hell no. I will not allow somebody to slit my throat before I'd tell them these little passwords." But we all vowed that we would. It was so creepy and then we had such bad feelings about ou

He has a whole freakin team of writers. What late night, or any host of a talk show doesn't? But he is brilliant. It took me awhile to warm up to him after John Stewart and took him awhile to relax and be himself. But he is absolutely brilliant. And no amount of good writing can make a person be able to do the spot-on accents and impersonations that he does.

My ex husband was married to a robot. He seemed to like it. She, as she saw her robot mother before her do, catered to his every whim, did as commanded, and turned her emotion filter off when it became evident that it would destroy her. When she would start to short circuit, he'd refer her to the corporation that created her wiring and she'd be back to solid robot mode in a jiffy. I think it w

We were just expected to participate in that when we lived in Utah Valley. Our ward, as you can imagine, was about 4 blocks square. Each house had a secured post in the grass for them to put the flag in. At first I didn't know that people were paying for that. They came around on the holidays and put the flags in the slot on almost EVERY house and then came and picked them up. I found out la

I get on the "what if" hamster wheel often. It gets worse as I get older and face the consequences of my 46 years of mormonism. But I've had some good therapy the past few years and try to talk to myself the way I really should and get off the wheel that goes nowhere. That's not something that comes naturally, and maybe never will. It's a conscious mind turn that I have to make, it'

It's always a hard call. Nothing to do with heaven and hell, just with what is best for them or me. I'd certainly be more likely to buy someone a hamburger than give them money. But I also do volunteer work with a couple of non-profits focused on homelessness and my views have changed a lot with my experience. I do try to look them in the eye and smile. One thing I've learned is that the

I know there are some. But in all my years, and it's been many, I've never seen someone who voluntarily left and resigned their membership, return and ask to be re-baptized. I've seen several who have been excommunicated and then did that, though. As I said, there have to be some who have resigned and been re-baptized, but they are few and far between.

Well, the Earth IS only 6,000 years old. Where were you in Sunday School? Just because the Earthy parts and all that other stuff is millions of years old, it all came from OTHER planets that were that old or older. Some of the pieces still had bones of animals that lived on those planets. That's why you don't find dinosaur bones all over the Earth. God disassembled those other planets and use
