I know you prefer The Most Interesting Man in the World, but at some point Our Mister of Aches and Pains may be more apt.

Can you give us examples of where a determinist like Sapolsky substitutes "interpretation" for scientific observation? Exactly which argument in which chapter in which book is wrong and why? Or can't you be bothered to get up from your armchair? -------------------

Dennett was a great thinker. I've been critical of him because 1) he was misrepresented as opposing determinism, which was untrue; and 2) he believes free will and determinism are compatible, which strikes me as nonsensical. On other topics, however, he has been revolutionarily clear and insightful. The world is poorer without him.

Dennett was much more complex--not in a good way--than you present. Henry cited him several times as a believer not in determinism but in free will. What you have done is to reiterate my point from a few weeks ago: Dennett was a fully committed determinist. Henry's denying that fact was disingenuous, to put it gently. But what made Dennett so bizarre was that although he was a determinis

LLCs are taxed but at a much lower rate, I believe subject to correction, than individuals or regular corporations. Young could also pay all his business-related expenses through the LLC, which would be more advantageous from a tithing perspective than paying them personally. My broader point, though, is that the tax code is written to give rich people many more options and loopholes than are

If he is intelligent, Young will do what rich Mormons like Romney and Huntsman do: set up an LLC. An LLC is a limited liability company that can be as small as a one-person entity. He could call it something like Young Coaching Enterprises, have BYU deposit his salary into it, and then pay himself, say, 100,000 per year from that company. He'd pay tax and tithing on that 100,000 but the

It's sad how many people insist on having "their" truth irrespective of facts. Can you guess, for instance, who today spoke in a social media post of "my TRUTH " when attacking Jimmy Kimmel? Pathetic, isn't it, when non-murderers do the same thing as Kohberger?

Isn't Baltimore where Pol Pot went after putting China in its place? The reason, I read in Tocqueville or Mathus--I forget which--was that neither Beijing nor Phnom Penh have extradition treaties with the Shah of Maryland. But you would know better than I.

I fear, good friend, that with logic like that no one will ever accuse you of having graduated from . . . E/C^2 . (-1)^(1/2) . PV/nR . . . although some may think the PV/nR is relevant to your personal behavior.
