I recently sent a note to Susan / IS asking to have my account closed. I have not heard back yet. I have read a couple of posts that made it sound like she may have retired and may no longer be an admin of this truly great forum. Not sure how to find out... Not sure that I want to know... May the admins of RFM live on forever! The reason why I would ask for such a thing (excommunication from

I had a dream last night about going through the temple in 1985. I remembered promising to devote everything to the mormons. I pledged to slit this and cut that if I ever told their secrets. I think they have me dead to rights. Is this actually an enforceable agreement? I have reached a point where most days I really don't care any more. My dear wife, who is intelligent, wonderful and kind, ha

Not even if the criticism is true. This was explicitly stated by mormon apostle Oaks.

It sounds like the local leadership has a lot to say about it. For my wife, masks were required. My son said his ward did not require masks. The distancing requirements were roughly the same. In my wife's ward, members had to confirm that the were going to attend, but my son's ward just arrived at their assigned time.

Many of the responses have given a lot of great insight. I would look at it this way: 1. How will this affect people I care about? 2. How will this affect people who I don't care about, but who I would love to see get theirs... 3. How will this affect me? 4. Do the answers to the preceding questions balance in favor of protecting the innocent? Do they protect the defenseless and th

How does a written document hang by a thread? I heard this kind of crapola when I first joined the church. It really made me feel like I had insider info. Turns out that mormonism has always been a crap salad of religion, self aggrandizement, political power, persecution, paranoia, and money. So much for thinking that I was special...

Seems like a natural act. BKP was a little factory of hate. It's about time his views were pulled. The mormons should have tugged that content long ago. It must have been hard for the Q12 and the 1P to let go of this object lesson in bad metaphors. Well, it must have been a prophalactic measure to staunch the emmision of backward ideas. Oh oh oh... The little factory was th

Gordon Stinky had a great post about BS faith promoting stories, but I would like to take a different angle. All faith promoting stories prove nothing, even if they are entirely true. That's because they seek to affirm the meaning of an event, not disprove a proposed explanation for it. For example, a person in business does the right thing and is rewarded. So what about a person who does t

15. 1986
I went through the mormon temple in 1986. To be entirely candid, I have spilled the beans multiple times about the oaths, covenants and other holy crap. Should I slit my throat first, or disembowell myself first? Since it will be impossible to do both, is there a thorough going mormon bastard who will do the second for me? I need some serious guidance...

No one should have to endure the phony reassurance of a so-called priesthood bearer. I say I am sorry because I have pronounced many such blessings. At first I really believed that what I would say would happen. I had faith. After I began to question and doubt I hoped that my blessings would happen, but I thought they might not. When I became a devout non-believer, I thought the blessing might

If you are recovering from mormonism, consider how many different ways the church sought to control you. Some of this has recently changed, but has not gotten better. Not all of the following list applies to everyone, due to age or gender. However, most still affect others. For example, primary is for kids, but adults have to teach it. The goals of control seem to focus on controlling your tim

I do not mean to make you feel bad. It is weird stuff. They don't mention this kind of stuff when they teach you or baptize you. Good luck.

Over the years when my kids were teen aged, my stake did the trek at least three times. How did no one get injured? Kids in my ward got blisters, heat exhaustion, and sprains. My youngest was thoroughly freaked out by the experience. Still, no law suits? The church intimidates its members not to sue. To sue the church would make you an apostate. The church also enforces non-disclosure

24. Nope
Then again, who can say? Over the last 37 years I have spent thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars on the foolish, obviously fake mormon mob. If I was dumb enough to do that, maybe grape flavor would have been ok. What an idiot I was / am.

At least not with the mormons who I know.... On the contrary, the covid has demonstrated the wisdom of the mormon prophet, again according to the mind numbed dumb ass robots who follow the current charlatan.

The most plain reading of this letter applies its stricture to members of the ward or stake of any particular leader. As church leaders are meant to be fair and impartial to all under their stewardship, it is best for them to stay the hell out of the legal lives of the members of their flock. It's too bad they cannot extend this doctrine by removing the word "legal" from the prece

I often blame myself for falling into the trap set for me by the mormon church. Perhaps I was flawed. Maybe as a 16 year old boy I had already committed some terrible act that meant that I was ready for a lifetime of control. Maybe I deserved it. I consider my upbringing. There was lots of craziness on both branches of the family tree. I was a nerdy kid. I was not popular nor was I unpopular.
