I am a nevermo and still learning about all of this... but my ex is an absolute narcissist and I can see where the LDS church fits her like a glove. So I am inclined to think you are correct. There seem to be a lot of narcissistic traits in the church and it seems to appeal to people who are narcissistic. Or so it seems in my admittedly limited experience.

So sad. =( I am committed to doing what I can to prevent their baptisms, but the folks here have helped me make my peace that I can’t REALLY prevent it. If the Mormons can find your name, they will baptize you. If you don’t consent to it while you’re a live they’ll do it when you’re dead. It’s all so sick.

Hello everyone. Recap, then a question. Recap. I'm a neverMO, ex was a golden contact convert, hid her conversion for a year. When I found out I took legal action to prevent the baptism of my daughters 4 and 8. We have joint custody. Question. They are getting ready to travel for the holidays. Do Mormons look up the local ward when they get where they are going and just "pop

That’s my definition of en masse. And that’s what I wish to protect my kids from. Having to go in, put on the outfit, and get shoved under water 20 times in some weirdo occult ritual for

That is horrifyingly fascinating. I wasn’t even talking about baptisms of the living... I am still at the point of being appalled by baptizing the dead en mass.

Thank you for your reply on my other thread. I feel that my input on yours might not be super duper useful, as I am a NeverMo and a man, and the church didn’t enter into my situation until after the divorce... so very different circumstances... But given the issues that are pretty unique to females coming out of LDS surely there are some gender-specific ex-mo support groups. Maybe that w

On the occasion of my two-week-aversary on the board let me say thanks, give an update, and ask a question. So thanks for your support, everyone. RECAP. I’m a divorced nevermo and my ex secretly converted a year ago. I have joint custody of 2 daughters and the eldest just turned 8. My attorneys have drafted a letter to her Bishop, Stake President, and the SLC Membership office assertin

I am new here... still spelunking down the LDS rabbit hole... So the Mormons believe that there were 12 foot tall red haired humans in North America... and that there is archaeological and fossils evidence of such? If so... is that a common belief or more of a specialty thing? I just can’t wrap my head around it. If it were true it would be on the front page of TIME magazine like Tuta

Quick recap from my previous posts. I'm a NEVERMO, my ex is a Golden Contact convert. Just found out she's been going and taking my daughters aged 8 and 4 to an LDS church for a almost a year. Her baptismal anniversary is coming up, so presumably she is going for her Temple Recommend. We have joint custody. I have attorneys writing letters to all levels of the LDS hierarchy from her local m

Ok, my next question. In learning about the LDS church and their beliefs, thinking and doctrine... I can’t help but notice- Outside of their name, I have never run across the term “saint” ANYWHERE. I mean “Jesus” (or at least some entity going by that same name) at least comes up. But where are the saints? What are Mormon “saints”? I’m going to guess that like so much t

> They would consider it irrelevant. Any past sins > are washed away at baptism. I figured the sin of the abortion would be forgiven. That seems pretty standard. I was wondering about the future CK corporeality of the aborted fetuses. Sounds like no one is quite sure, they just don’t talk about it and trust God to sort it out.

New here. Still learning about LDS doctrines, beliefs and practices. Today I am asking about Mormons and abortion. I presume they oppose it among members, probably even for rape and incest. But more specifically, to a convert... how do they view a convert that has had an abortion(s)? Do the sealing and forever family in celestial heaven include the aborted babies? I mean they baptize th

It really says something if their central dogma (and near as I can ascertain ONLY selling point) of being family centric is failing in their heartland.
