I don't think it's only the church that wants a cut of your will/estate. Almost every social program/organization has efforts that you should give part of your estate to them. I've have gotten requests from Trout Unlimited, Save the World from Global Warming, schools and universities I've never heard about, every social program foreign and domestic. Everyone wants what you have.

Have many fond memories of Star Valley, in many ways I wished I would have been able to stay. Was offered a 200 acre ranch, w/3 bedroom house, milk barn and a year round flowing spring, all for $60K. But this was back in 1968, I was making $6600 a year. A few years later, people were subdividing and selling 5 acre lots for $100K.

Funny, last night my family got together for a pre Thanksgiving dinner, as everyone is scattering around for actual Thanksgiving dinner. Something came up about the LDS family neighbor, my daughter started laughing and said that one of the BYU football games the opposing fans were holding up signs that read "BYU Soaks". I know about 10 times more than any of my family about LDS (

I've wondered about the existence of Jesus. The Romans were conducting a census at the time. Romans were known to have great documentation and records, but no one has anything on Mary and Joseph, ergo, Jesus. Then there's the situation that there are two Bethlehems, one about 5 miles from Jerusalem and the other about 60 miles away. The information is too confusing convince me.

I have no trouble opening the video.... Long video, 45 minutes, but very interesting. Just finished reading about the history of CP RR, the politics were amazing and cut throat. Locating the final alignment thru the Cambrian shield was super human effort.

Got this from a friend... might fit in with the Friday topic. A glass of wine To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine and those who don't and are always seen with a bottle of water in their hand: As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, In beer there is freedom, In water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demon

Please leave elderolddog alone. He reminds me of so many of my Hispanic relatives in northern New Mexico. They try to do something nice for someone and things go totally haywire. But they just smile at you, pick themselves up, try to do better next time, and never holding a grudge.

Are these people establishing WA citizenship? Registering to vote, WA driver licences, working for wages if not they got a good case as being visitors. Neighbor is a Baptist minister that bought a house and kept California plates on his vehicles for over over five years. When I moved in over 40 years ago, a state policeman lived across the street, we warned me to get ne plates, drivers lic

Over the time I've learned and shared views and opinions of LDS, The trends and thoughts of this current thread and today's Cathoic readings at mass seemed to mesh with many peoples opinion on the status of the LDS leadership. I'd like your opinion, Matth 23, 1-12 23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So

What difference does it make if you like their craft? Shania Twain puts out great music. They and everybody can't help or change from where they came, they and the rest of us can only control where they/we are going.

What would happen if someone was to go through the temple ceremony and the just park themselves in one of those lobby chairs. When someone tells you to move along, you just tell them you want to contemplate, savour, and appreciate the temple ceremony while it was still fresh on your soul and mind. And just refuse to move along. Would they call up some temple goons to physically remove you at

Edog stated: "Amusingly enough, if you check (but not too deeply...), I served an honorable mission, too!" That reminds of the scene in the movie "The Wizard of Oz", where the Wizard says, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"
