We are going to Ribeauville, which is a little town about two hours away from us. We used to go there a lot when we lived near Stuttgart. It’s a quaint village, very close to Riquewihr, which is considered one’s of France’s most beautiful. I was going to plan something more exotic for our anniversary, but our dog is getting chemotherapy, and I didn’t want to board him. The place w

Thank you! This will be the fourth time I’ve seen James! It will be the first time seeing him so close up! I’ve been a big fan of his for about 40 years. I also love his brother, Livingston’s, music. In fact, Livingston probably puts on the best show I have ever seen. Anyway, it looks like James made it to Stockholm and will be playing tonight. Hopefully, his health will hold u

Thank you! Last night, we got to Skype with his daughter, who was estranged for years, and has reconnected. And I made a joke when he spilled coffee beans at breakfast and cussed. I said, “Now, that wouldn’t have happened if you were still a Mormon.” ;) Being his wife has opened up so much for me… including getting to know so many exMormons, who are some of my favorite people.

On Wednesday, we will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We are going to France for most of the weekend. We were going to stay through Sunday, but we have second row tickets to see James Taylor in Frankfurt. He was supposed to play on the 8th, but had to postpone the show because he got COVID. It's still not a sure bet he will make it to Saturday's show, since James had to cancel several

Just today, we received the loveliest thank you/ Happy Anniversary card in the mail from Bill’s daughter. Her oldest child just turned five, so we got to send presents. One was a fuzzy blanket with glow in the dark stars on it. Apparently, he loved it, because he’s afraid of the dark! I think his mom loves it, too. ;) I am not “grandma”, but I love shopping for kids. We also sent

Bill loved the video! I really enjoyed making it, especially since we're about to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Ex, too, has made it to 20 years with her third husband. However, she has a very public Twitter page, and lately she's been making some noises that another split may be on the horizon. She tweets actors and authors, and recently posted that the way they set up fantasies could &q

I just watched the 1985 movie, A Chorus Line, which I loved as a 13 year old. As a 50 year old, it was less amazing. I still love Avenue Q, though. That is the story of my life on so many levels.

About ten days ago, my husband was on a business trip. I got an email from my aunt with the lyrics to the song "Bill" from Show Boat. She must have thought they were perfect, as my husband's name is Bill, and it's a sweet, romantic song. I've known that song for some years. Jane Monheit did it for her album, "Taking a Chance on Love", and I've been wanting to do it, too.

"The old men are sure doing a poor job of controlling women. Women get sole choice to choose to kill the fetus which has half its DNA from the dad. Or she can choose to keep it, in which case society forces the dad to pay for it until it is 18. And if she chooses to divorce him (most divorces initiated by women), she can get half his sh!t and usually gets the kids." Seems to me

summer, I just want to say, I agree with everything you posted. Thank you for your reasoned and sensible responses. I have never been pregnant, or even at risk of being pregnant, but the overturning of Roe v Wade really pisses me off. There are so many scenarios that would lead someone to consider having an abortion that are just plain no one else’s business.

Oh, it sounds like Thor got a lovely send off, and will have a beautiful final resting place. I am very sorry for your loss, and I wish you and your family much peace and comfort. As for Arran, he’s still doing okay, except that prednisolone makes him very hungry and have to pee a lot. He woke me up at 2:30am, peed on my rug, demanded treats, then got me up a half hour later, pooped on the

134. Update...
So far, Arran is doing great! His lymph nodes have gone down, and he's a lot perkier. We just took a walk and he had fairly normal energy. He still isn't jumping on the bed by himself, but he no longer cries when I help him. And he's eating like a champ! Prednisolone stimulates the appetite, so he definitely wants his food. I know this is temporary, but it's so nice to see. My husband wa

If you check my YouTube channel, you can see pics. Noyzi has been a huge blessing. He is wonderful. Big dog from a tiny place! Arran is from North Carolina.

Thank you. Arran is mostly beagle, with coonhound and Llewelyn Setter. He’s got spots, but otherwise looks like a beagle. Picture an athletic looking beagle with Dalmatian spots. All of our dogs, save for Noyzi, the Kosovar shepherd, were beagle mixes.

I felt his lymph nodes, and they are noticeably smaller today. The Prednisolone and cancer fighting drugs are no joke! He actually got up early this morning and ate a full ration of kibble. He hasn’t been getting up early lately. He did sleep on the floor last night, which is a first. I put a blanket down for him, and I guess that was more comfortable. I know it’s temporary, but i

Thank you. I don’t believe a complete recovery is possible with lymphoma in most cases. He is also quite elderly. But we want him to feel better for the time he’s got left. He just woke me up at 4am for another potty break! Good thing I can take naps in the afternoon!

I have so many feelings. Arran is a very special and unusually resilient dog. We got him on January 12, 2012, less than a month after we lost his predecessor, MacGregor, to a spinal tumor. My husband was very close to MacGregor, so he was especially emotional when we brought Arran (named after a Scottish island) home. Somehow, Arran knew, and he immediately bonded with him. We both think Mac

I was 30 and a virgin when I got married, and I was never LDS. It wasn’t a bad thing to wait. I don’t have kids, but my husband had them with his ex wife… and yes, what bradley writes about parental alienation and child support is very true for a lot of folks. Don’t be in a rush. Find the right person. Our situation turned out okay. Next month, we will celebrate twenty years. It

Aww.. Thor sounds lovely! I’m sorry her journey is coming to an end, but it sounds like you gave her a great life. You will be giving her a fine send off, too. My husband is very allergic to cats. Otherwise, I would love to have one myself. Arran is done with his treatment. He has a touch of anemia, but handled the treatment fine. He wanted kibble when we got home, but is now rest

Yes, my dogs are my babies, too. I never had kids, so my dogs get all of my maternal instincts lavished on them. ;) My sister invited us to her North Carolina home for Christmas, but I turned her down because if Arran is still with us, he'll still be on chemo, and I don't want to board him again. Besides, my dogs have been much more loving, accepting, and loyal than my family ever was...

Thanks! We just finished the treatment. So far, so good. I'm actually not that sad about this. We've had six rescue dogs so far... seven if you count the one who escaped before we could even pet him. One died of a really rare and nasty mycobacterial infection. One died of prostate cancer. One had a very aggressive and malignant spinal tumor. And then there's Zane, who also had lymph

He is our second pooch to have canine lymphoma. We were going to let nature take its course, as he's about 13 or 14 years old, but he simply isn't ready for the Rainbow Bridge yet. Lymphoma is supposedly very responsive to chemo, especially the kind he has-- B Cell. And in just a few months, he will be celebrating his 10th anniversary with us. Our other dog, Zane, who had lymphoma in 2019

I love my mom, especially now that I’m grown. She became a different person when my dad died. I had a lot more issues with him than her. My mom is beautiful, talented, funny, and smart. But she probably shouldn’t have had me. She told me many times when I was a child that I was a mistake or an accident. She was pretty neglectful, too. However, she was willing to buy me a horse to k

I think one reason she didn’t do the reboot has to do with Dan Schneider, who made a lot of Nickelodeon shows. He was reportedly an abusive creep. Nickelodeon offered her $300k not to ever speak about the show. She declined, which was a good move. I think her book is going to sell a lot of copies.

According to her book, both her mom and grandmother were very manipulative, exploitive, and abusive. Her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was two, and she was not above using the cancer to get sympathy or preferential treatment. She used Jennette for money, and did weird things like make her and her brother sleep on mats in their dining room (she was a hoarder). Even when Jennette

My husband’s ex wife has often talked about getting her kids into show business. She used to talk about her eldest son trying out for movies, then it was my husband’s younger daughter. Now she’s tweeting celebrities about her youngest daughter going to a conservatory. A lot of what Jennette wrote about was familiar on many levels, right down to the kids paying household bills. We have

I saw an interview this morning and she said that maybe she will go back at some point, but quitting acting was some she had to do for her health. And when you read her book, you will find out just how serious it got. I am impressed by the quality of her book. It’s really good. I totally understand why she chose that title, too. Her mother was extremely toxic.
