Empahtically no. IN fact, I'd say Mormons who cheat seems to prey on other mormons more than non-mormons.

One of the biggies is no archeaological or written evidence of the Exodus with Moses. More or less the same as the Book of Mormon. No evidence and no credible scientists do any work on it because it is a myth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exodus

Except in BIC cases and cases where there is no Internet (if there any) how can the church possibly grow? You would think before joining anyone would do a search of the LDS church online and find out a lot of stuff. Especially on YouTube. Gotta be a reorg or a lie. Jeff is experienced in lying on camera - reference BBC documentary

My view is he went into it knowing how it would end. "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear" or lose it. The stake pres and high council were no doubt told exactly what to do by Chruch HQ PR Dept. The Dept that seems to now run LDS Inc. The statement the stake pres read was probably vetted or even written by Chruch HQ. They knew this would be high profile.

Push the apocalypse talk, demand obedience and hope for the best. The can't come clean on the past. Its too devastating. However, I gotta say the "new guys" are not doing much better with the "no baptising children of gays" etc.. Off to a great new start!

Its been about 3 years and the best thing for us is dropping the guilt and self-loathing. We don't sin and we don't need the sacrament every Sunday to remind ourselves and punish ourselves for all the stuff we do WRONG! Sacrament is all about guilt and shame and never being good enough no matter what you do. This huge, unnecessary burden is gone. Like Bob Barr says in his comedy routine:

She will have to get over the families are forever, p-hood blessings are magic and other Mormon Disneyland fairy tales she grew up with. It takes women longer to change perspective than men because they really want to hang on to the fairy tale. Even when they get married and everything isn't like as promised on TV they can still cling to the magic of the p-hood. You can apply logic like &q

He will reveal to you that need to pay your tithes, go to church even on vacation, attend the temple even on vacation, go on a mission when you retire, teach sunday school, do your home teaching, do your genealogy and wear a Mr Mac suit. In other words, I bear witness of the solemnity and personal nature of the holy LDS checklist. When you die you can show them your filled in your personal ch

I have a magic stick that works according to faith. I've found it works best in the hands of kids under age 8 because they are pure in heart and have lots of faith. It was fashioned after the manner of things I heard after reading about Julie Rowe and her accomplishments. I think I can use it to find B of M artifacts, and I'm currently seeing if it can also be used to locate the lost Rhodes G

I have power over Satan. It says so in my highly credible, Church approved P-blessing. Do I sell my power for money? Absolutely! I charge a small fee ($49.95) for most Satan related services.

I know of a former BYUI employee who told me personally she was subject to tracking and doing lots of church related stuff that had nothing to do with the job. For example, having to complete a weekly assessment of how she "shared her faith in Christ" with her class or how she "improved her personal testimony etc" during the week. If she did not cheerfully comply and do the

This is a fatal flaw in Mormon doctrine. Without Adam and Eve and the fall, the whole gospel falls apart.

I will go with cleaning the chruch and cleaning it extra good before conference or a new temple opening is right there as insane. Many buildings in Utah are used by 3 or 4 wards, so tithes from the 3-4 wards for that building are probably easily over 1 million. But the members still have to clean the chruch! They can't hire a janitorial service. GIve me your money and now kiss my butt and get

There are some very smart Mormons. You used to be one of them. Anyone can live in denial and be smart. It's a very unfortunate part of human nature.

I have seen this in my kids. One of my kids never believed. Even when he was 8 after he was baptised he said "I don't know if this is true." I credit watching Scooby Doo. It's never magic or ghosts, always just some guy in a mask. My kid was a big Scooby fan. I think it also depends on how you are raised and the freedom to think in the home. Even when we were TBM, my wife and I

Totally agree. It's all about doubt and emphasis on uncertainty. Another similar book is Merchants of Doubt by Namoi Orseskes. She describes the doubts raised by the tabacco cos and "freedom" organizations that are opposed to gov't regulation. She also documents how the same organizations that supported tabacco have blocked action to take care of climate change. The Mormon Ch

Same old one way street known as Mormonism. "Only True church." "Most correct book." Pay your tithes to enter the temple/learn the secret words and handshakes to enter Heaven etc... Now it looks like you also have to accept the "gay revelation" or pretend to accept it to show you are loyal.

What kind of laughs and stupid moves will the prophet, seers and revelators offer up for for 2016? We always hear the usual, including 2-hour chruch sessions and okay to marry outside the temple and then get sealed, but can you think of any possible LDS clusters for 2016?
