You'd think a living profet (sic) would be useful. Maybe Nelson didn't make it because world fleet of corporate jets was committed before he was invited.

Plates attached with only one screw, zip-ties, expiration sticker irregularities, stuck in the rear window, all that. Run the plate, see what comes up. Also handy if you don't like the look of somebody, his drivings are suspicious, and handy as an add-on if a jerk needs some attitude improvement therapy.

It seems to me that he was only resigning from (and having trouble with) his calling as bishop. Not from LDS belief or church authority. Or did I miss something?

But the matter of her license plate didn't enter into this brief account. A personal account--really happened: Some years ago, on my day off, I had to drop something off at my church. As I went in, I noticed a woman I had never seen before exiting. I covered the brief matter with the pastor, then said, "Not knowing that lady, but the next time you see her, you might mention that her car

Read a recent article about a parish where the Latin Mass* is celebrated. Quite to the contrary, the reporter noted an abundance of young families with children--and children on the way.** Anyway, the FBI is keeping a close eye on them. *I have no theological sympathy for the Latin Mass. "All Greek to me," you know. **BTW, they're called "babies."

The apostle Peter said he was "unworthy to be executed as his Lord was." But he was condemned to crucifixion, so they crucified him upside down.

Interesting--falls short of ironic--that this thread appears at the time Prof. Claudine Gay, the president of Harvard University, is under fire for plagiarism. She gained the presidency of an elite university writing just 10 peer-reviewed articles, and no books--not even a 101-level textbook. Plagiarism has been identified in seven of those ten "scholarly" articles, plus her dissertatio

At least Nikola was investor money, not tax dollars. But the difference in scale is gargantuan: $48B (give or take) down the hole with Nikola vs. $535M (or so) on Solyndra. We'll never know how much money went into these scams. Ethanol: "Seemed like a good idea at the time."

For Catholicism, I'd say this is the ecclesiastical equivalent of secular/legal "domestic partnerships." The political um..."bestowing" authorities couldn't make it, or call it, "marriage," not at first, but they were sort of the next best thing--clearly a major step towards calling it, defining it, and recognizing it as "marriage." No, it's not "ma

Please don't be too hasty to dismiss this as conspiracy theory, but the Davos/World Economic Forum/"Great Reset" crowd are very big on reducing (red) meat consumption. To reduce cow farts, all that. It's part of the smaller population "sustainable" planet vision. To that end, they are advancing more than the "BeyondMeatBurger" to introducing inspects in the diet.

My great grand uncle Sigmund was a junior assistant associate petty officer 4th class Bilgeman on her sister ship, the USS North Metro Western Lesser Podunk.
