The purpose for mormon baptism is two-fold. The sin thing is universal. Baptism also is the only way to join the church. They say Jesus was being an example.

I don't see the issue. Living as a heterosexual IS an option for gay people. One might think it is a bad choice but adults have an uncanny ability to make opinions for themselves. If a gay wants to stay celibate and stay in the church, who cares. If Weed and his wife have a situation that is working, why should he stay in the closet about it? There are just about as many degrees of s

I think there are plenty of people who add to the general missionary fund on their tithing slips without needing to. That means there is even more surplus $ money.

Yeah, I'd say choose your battles wisely. Church attendance is sure to be a non-choice. Maybe the seminary thing could be negotiated. If it were me, I wouldn't tell my parents that I didn't believe. If they know you have no testimony they will certainly not want to waiver on attending every single thing that comes up. Come back here for support.

I am not married. Maybe that is why I cannot imagine allowing someone to manipulate me like that. He is going to divorce you because you don't go to church? Contest it. I wonder how that will go over in the courts. He'll lose everything.

Why can't you say something? That woman needs to be told that her comments are wrong and that she is horrible for teaching something like that. I wouldn't stay silent if I were you.

I don't think that any church should have a position like that. however, it wouldn't surprise me if the Catholic church had something like that. They are 10 times what the mormons are.

I would schedule something fun for her with the kids and her on Saturday. Don't let her mistakingly believe that you are trying to keep her away from the kids completely. If you think she will talk to them about the church then schedule something fun for all of you. Of course you should still be firm with not letting her take the kids to church. Just make it clear that you want to keep them

I recommend talking to him because the OP asked about helping his DW out of the church. Listening to these men blame me for their illogical thoughts eventually snapped me out of the brain washing. BTW, how is talking about CHRIST non-denominational?

Nothing. I hope I die on my terms and that I celebrate my life while I am still alive with the people I love. That way loved ones won't need a funeral and I can get burned up and put under a rose bush.

Sure has not happened to me. I am not on any other internet chat boards so my interactions are all live with friends, acquaintances, or friends of friends. I am an overly honest person and even if I wasn't, people just seem to believe whatever I tell them. I NEVER embellish. I I never lie about the church. (We don't need to.) I have had several conversations about the church because of Rom

EVERY time I did, the VERY first thing out of every single one of their mouths' was, "Are you living all the commandments? Is there any unresolved sin? This could be effecting your testimony." Usually they took my temple pass. Maybe told me to not take the sacrament for a little while. I never had one get mad, threaten excommunication, courts of love, or be anything but kind in

Everybody is different. Sometimes one thing will work for one person and not for another. Prozac almost made me have permanent facial tics. I have been on many things. Wellbutrin saved my life. I am also on a mood stabilizer which helps a lot. Thing is, I have a VERY good dr. He really cares and works hard to understand my symptoms. He is a V.A. dr. so there is no way he can be infl

I STILL do not believe this number. It took me 2 months to fill out my papers. Dr. and dentist visits, interviews by SP and BP. How could all those people get interviewed in just 2 weeks? The church is lying, just like they about membership numbers.

What is "The moral code of women." Is it a secret? Who decided what it was? Is it different for mormon women and regular women? This is why the cult is destructive. It puts these horrible standards on children. When the kid breaks one of these codes, the guilt will be overwhelming.

A pull from a flask of Crown Royal by each of us in the wedding party just before the ceremony to calm the us all down. It was awesome. Real dancing at the reception. Family and friends coming from all over the country because a wedding is actually a big deal. .......

One can also unplug the wired kind. At the end of the wire is a tiny plug, gently pull on it. Take the battery out. N more beeping.

My friend's dad has been doing some data entry for the church so that he can get remote access to their genealogy records. He is very interested in his ancestry. Has anyone heard os this before? He does a little bit of research for the church and then "inputs names into a system they provide." We had a very fun conversation tonight about what the church does with those names aft

I wouldn't consider it on office park. It is right next to one of U.S.'s most major freeways. It is in the high rent district. There is a nice group of condos and some nice shopping close by. I use to think it was pretty. Maybe that is because of how outlandish it is. Mormonism is outlandish and they want to stick out. There are many more nicer places in San Diego that wouldn't have bee

In my last place I bought candy every year and had 5 kids in the 6 years I lived there. I lived in a nice pocket of houses (with one kid in the all of the 20 houses) in a crappy neighborhood. That would have been a gold mine when I was a kid. Now I live in a crappy neighborhood with a shit ton of kids. I don't want to give out candy. Maybe I'll try the sign thing. How do you say, &q

I would be so sad. If I couldn't convince them to stop I don't what I'd do. I have a few anti-mormon books, I'd ask to sit in on the discussions, I would relay my experience. I went so far the other way when I left that I cannot imagine any of my single friends wanting anything to do with the cult. I can only imagine families have any draw to it. My friends love their spouses and chi

Was it always like that? Does anyone know? I'd guess someone was thinking and realized that a man touching a naked woman, except for that poncho thingy, could result in a lawsuit.
