Listen to twojedis! Love is something you build on and nourish. Remember that marriage is a commitment to each other, not something which is disposable for the next pretty woman. Seek adventure in other ways and sexual fulfillment in your marriage, not outside. Forum: Recovery Board
We had a cat which met a collie puppy. Swatted him on the nose. Fast forward ten years. The dog was HUGE and came into the yard barking at the cat. The cat took one step towards the dog and the dog turned tail and ran off. The dumb dog remembered being swatted as a puppy and didn't realize he was big now. The cat was smart. The bird may be a birdbrain but.... Forum: Recovery Board
The only donations made were to help the poor! Not like TSCC. The candlelight service I went to was simply about Christ and God's love.
Years ago, the ward here held a Thanksgiving service on Thanksgiving Day, but no more. Too many people are from Utah or from non-English speaking countries and don't give a hoot.
TSCC thinks only of angels appering to Latter-Day Saints and not to those on C Forum: Recovery Board
I had spiritual dreams long before I joined but NONE after joining. Figures. I was on the right path before and made a bad choice in joining. I made a good choice in leaving. Forum: Recovery Board
I knew a member who had multiple abortions because she "prayed about it"! No exing or anything. TSCC also specifically permits certain abortions. I once was sechduled to give a talk and was told not to mention abortion because it would "hurt" some members. Pro-life? Remember Mitt until he ran for Prez. TSCC can switch just as easily. There is no moral compass. Forum: Recovery Board
I don't think it really fair to downgrade one's success by referring to someone as merely a housewife. Also, a smart woman will, likely, have smarter children, My mother, who'sIQ was only 150, and who taught school for many years before being married, felt that raising children was the highest possible calling and we were not LDS. Actually, it is possible as I found accidentally that one can merely walk in one of the out doors, so long as you have on the "proper" attire (being the apron and the baker's hat or veil). Just act like you know what you are doing. After all, in a larger temple they won't know that you didn't just leave the CR to use the restroom. I made the reference. I will find the page later today if I have the time. The book by Bradford was written from Bradford's writings beginning before 1620 and up to 1647. It was reprinted in 1896 from an 1856 edition copied for the original folio. Rev. Thomas Prince used it extensively in his volume on the history of New England to 1630 - written about 1756 and reprinted in 1826. It is this which Forum: Recovery Board
I was not even invited to be outside for our daughter's wedding. It hurts. But I could not lie and say I believe or pay tithing to a false church. The injuries from the church are formidable. Forum: Recovery Board

I'm an attorney and when I won my first criminal jury trial (I've not lost one) it was the first defense win in a couple of years in the jurisdiction. My client was innocent and framed in a bomb incident.

It would make an interesting study to determine the percentage of beer drinkers who look like pigs and the percentage of beer sales to that group. Forum: Recovery Board
Steve, part of my point is that that "traditional" belief is utterly unnecessary and an add on. I know of some people who believe God knows our thoughts before we think them....but this really is absurd. I believe we can communicate with God in prayer but this is necessary because God doesn't know in advance, etc. Forum: Recovery Board
Our brag rag should, though I doubt that it will, include my official apostasy. Other than that, it will outdo any that you might receive. Births, weddings, gradations, missions, jobs, travel, etc. etc. etc. Even a book. Forum: Recovery Board
Watch and check again in a week and see if any has been consumed. Let's hope so! Then, start by mentioning you have been reading on line that tea is good for you. 1. I have reservations about teaching Santa but I believe in Christ. There is a great difference.
2. To me Santa was always kind of a joke, not something serious, Moreover, I find the idea of being constantly watched something rather totalitarian.
3. There is no reason even for God to know our every thought and I agree with previous posters who point out that love should not be conditional. The Forum: Recovery Board
If the handbook (earlier ed.) were not posted, I would never have known how to defend myself before the "Love Council". At very least, such sections which relate to member rights should be made available to the membership in general. SP tried to run roughshod over my hearing rights (See Bio section). Point well taken. I was referring to the interpretation of the rock and Peter, rather than discussing Christ who is referred to also as "the rock of our salvation". Rock, in the context of the statement by Peter that Jesus is the Christ, and Christ discusses "rock" does not change the recognition of Christ being the chief cornerstone (also rock), etc. Forum: Recovery Board
1. Jesus was called a wine-bibber (KJV) not a drunkard. At Pentacost the disciples were thought to be drunk, however, by some who were listening.
2. The Westminster Confession speaks against alcohol by encouraging abstinance.

Number 6 is a matter of dispute between Protestants (excluding Episcopalians) and Catholics. Mormonism appears to take the Catholic position that the "rock" was Peter. However, protestants believe the rock was the faith exhibited by Peter. As for apostalic succession, LDS belief is that it failed in the "Great Apostasy" and other sects maintain it continued and did not have to Forum: Recovery Board
