Also, don't do your talent , ie. art, or writing, or singing, or whatever during church time in order to handle to mind numbing boredom. I am an amateur artist. I will take an art pad with me to church and doodle and do pictures, etc. My wife cringes when she sees me drawing monsters and aliens and wars and gory stuff during sacrament meeting. So the ward is participating in the Stake Road

I've been able to access this site a few times from the Ward House. It's pretty easy to get around their filters. LOL.

You see,the reason why you left the church was so that you could look at porn without feeling guilt. If you didn't have a problem with looking at sexy, naked women with come hither looks enticing you with their glossy pages of evil, you would have remained valiant to the covenants you made at baptism.

So they were holding a Slow and Testimony meeting today. I came home early because I am not feeling well. Which is actually true, I am not 'faking' it to get out of church. They had a baby blessing and I was listening to the words about how said baby will grow up and be a strong member and get married in the temple, etc. etc., and it occurred to me that many on this board have had the same thi

I thought that it would be kind of funny/silly to play a game. 1. List a popular character from cartoons, comic books, or fiction, and then decide if they are Mormon, Liberal Mormon, TBM Mormon, or Ex-Mormon, and then explain you reasoning why. I will start. Lionel from Thundercats - Though he acts noble and true, and will fight til the end, that costume just come off as a little well...

I saw it in this mornings Tacoma Tribune. Seeing the Utah connection caught my eye, and my first thought was... why does the church even bother preaching the anti pornography thing at all, since none of the active members even listen. I think they make it so evil, it becomes overwhelmingly enticing to them.

I as a membership clerk in the ward was asked to call up ward members to collect email addresses. I asked what the purpose of them was in case someone asked. "Oh just so the Church has them as part of the membership records." I was told. "Well, just as long as they aren't planning to use it for SPAM or such." Knowing how things work, I took my membership directory and

The more I look into the history of Christianity and other religions, the more I am beginning to think that all of these religions and teachings are man made and come down to no more than 'imaginary friends' for adults. Though I may wish that there were angels and all that stuff, them more I study and learn about science, the more I come to the idea that all these things just aren't so. For

First having less actives called to help with janitorial work to reactivate them, now this? So there are a couple of new Elders in the ward and the Bishop calls the newest one up to tell us a little bit about himself. He tells his timeline and then mentions how NOW they invite INVESTIGATORS to go out on MISSIONARY EXCHANGES with them, and to do tracting with them... because then it will

I have a friend here in the (southeast) who is always bragging about being related to Mormon royalty. He is related to the Hinckley clan and in any discussions about religion he will say something like "when I was talking to my cousin GBH, he said..." He has had run in with the SP, calling the SP president to repentance and telling him he will go and talk to his 'cousin' family if th

We were told that the process of getting the profiles up took 1 to 2 weeks. Must be because of stuff like this. But yeah, because it's a cute 20 something female they might not have been paying close attention to the words, just the potential 'meat'

How many failed media campaigns will the church do until they burn through their money? Next week to great fanfare, there will be a special meeting in my ward showing us all how to place PROFILES on Mormon.org, so that investigators can go to it, look up and find a mormon with similar interests, and then maybe they will somehow be interesting in learning more about the gospel. Actually migh

He can't give a talk anymore without talking out both sides of his mouth. I don't think he would know what the truth was if it hit him in the head. All his legalize 2 sides of the coin waffling.

I served in the GAM. LOL. Sounds like a joke, since the Georgia Atlanta Mission doesn't cover ANY of Alabama, or it didn't when I was there. Way back in 91-93.

So last night I was suffering from insomnia. I came out at about 1 and played on my computer for a bit. My mother inlaw was staying with us and suggested to my wife that I should read the scriptures when I can't sleep because they help her fall asleep. I quipped "because they are boring?" DW "No because the spirit is soothing." Me: "Well I did read some Buddhist

I just finished reading a compilation of 'The Buddhist Scriptures' earlier today. Talking about the 4 Noble Truths and the Eight Fold Path. Very inspirational with some parallels to Christianity in thought. If I didn't already belong to the only TRUE and LIVING Church on the face of the Earth today, I might be really tempted to become a Buddhist. Truly worth reading and expanding ones mind. It

http://ldsmag.com/church/article/8550?ac=1 Hmmmmm. Looks like they forgot 13, 14, and 15. 13. When you are answering the question they SHOULD have asked. 14. When it is not a convenient truth. 15. When you need to lie for the Lord. Looks like Packer is going to need to have a discussion with this lady.

And DOESN'T trust it's 'leaders' Talk about a paranoid organization... So yesterday the Ward Clerk was missing, so I ended up helping with tithing settlement. In the past it has been me and the two members of the Bishopric. Yesterday, one of the counselors got sick and left early, so there were only 2 of us to do the tithing. So we get all done and all the deposits are in the bag. I had to

So my wife gets a call about 2 weeks ago stating that the Stake Presidency wanted to meet with her at such and such a time, NOT mentioning it was a meeting. She gets there and there are hundreds of people who have arrived thinking that they are going into an interview with the Stake Presidency. Instead it's a ruse to get them to come to a meeting discussing the importance of showing up at Stake C

So as some of you may or may not know, I am basically NOM. Still active, still attending, and all that. I think I got the best calling in the world... Ward Membership Clerk. I basically can come to the church building anytime I want, run a simple program to see if we have any new members in the ward, or move them out, and then surf the net. Another no brainer calling I have had is Sun

I remember vaguely my mom talking about it. Something about women in combat, and unisex bathrooms. Also, if you have a high school football team, it would be a mixture, or you would be required to have a womans and mens team to avoid the girls being 'tackled' by the boys and other stuff along those lines I personally don't have a problem with it.I've met plenty of women in my time who could pr

I have noticed in Church in Gospel Doctrine and other places that Glen Beck has been mentioned more and more. Now he is doing dome Israel tour type thing. Everytime I listen to his show, I can't help thinking the guy is a confidence man and a charleton. Even though I tend to be a libertarian and conservative, the guy has always given me the heebegebees. I think he's up to more than just

No, seriously. I am a membership clerk currently in my Ward. If we get a new record, and one of the HP or EQ members goes out to try and find the person, and they aren't there, they get sent to SLC where Elderly as opposed to Elders Missionaries try to harass next of kin to locate where they are.

I couldn't belong to any organization that would accept YOU as a member. Ask not what your Ward can do for you, but what you can do for your ward We have nothing to fear but...stray asteroids, spiders, monsters.. I think, therefore I stink.
