I’m over 60, and I’m not even close to being “mature.”

I don’t give a damn about old Russ, so I wouldn’t pay a cent. I’m sure that everything he says is so humiliating that a pie to the face could add nothing.

I agree. The days of rapid growth are certainly over, and the days of any real growth are probably over, but they have enough hard core believers (and more than enough money) to keep it going for a very long time.

1894. Re: Noah
A great suggestion that would bring the already low conversion rate even lower.

1895. Noah
In order to believe the story of Noah the way Mormons are expected to believe it requires an unbelievable level of cognitive dissonance and an extreme ability to ignore the facts. The story of Noah is not only important to the bible, it is essential to the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price. Over the years, in conference talks, ensign articles, and other General Authorities’ writings,

As a TBM, I hated “I Believe in Christ.” The lyrics are so awkward and amateurish. Even as a believer, I was certain that if anyone other than Bruce R. McConkie had written those lyrics, there would have been zero chance it would have been included in the hymnal.

When I finally gave up my belief in god, I noticed that I was so relaxed. Admitting that I didn’t know what (if anything) happens after mortality gave me a feeling of calmness that I never felt when I “knew the truth.”

I’m pretty sure you’re right, and that’s bad news for the future of the LDS church.

So....what do you think about the story of Adam and Eve? Do you think it’s literally true, or is it a metaphor? What value(s) do you see in the story? Do you want to defend the story, or are you just upset that it’s being ridiculed?

I’m not even sure if interplanetary would include Utah. They (i.e. the Mormons) are in a world of their own.

I have never bothered to resign, but I’m not a Mormon. In those rare occasions when I’m asked about religion, I say that was a very devout Mormon for most of my life, but now I’m a born-again agnostic.

Yeah, let’s just agree to disagree. I thought the Steelers vs. the Cardinals was a fun game to watch, decided but an outstanding throw and an even better catch. But... I guess there were some people who didn’t see it that way. ;)

You still have not produced a single shred of evidence. How would it benefit the NFL to fix games? A huge part of the NFL’s popularity is the fact that so much money is wagered on games. If there was any credible evidence of fixing games, all serious gamblers would abandon the sport, and they would also lose popularity with average fans who make friendly wagers. Like I said before, they hav

I asked for credible evidence, and you produced zero, zip, zilch, nada. You have a bright future as a Mormon apologist. One Mormon apologist tactic you used is starting with the NBA. I never mentioned the NBA. Daniel Peterson would be proud of your ability to bring up something unrelated to the argument and pretend you made some valid point. You predicted the Patriots would win the Super Bo

I defy you to present any credible evidence (the key word here is “credible”-a link to a loony YouTube video doesn’t count) that any NFL game has been fixed.

It’s God’s will that they live so long. Face it, the world lost its moral compass more than 50 years ago when evils such as race equality, women’s rights, and the acceptance of homosexuality crept into popular thinking. God can’t allow his one true church to be polluted by 1960s and beyond attitudes./s

What you say is conjecture, but it makes a lot of sense. I’m sure the business people will keep an eye on the new “ministering” program. Will it bring people back into activity and deepen the devotion of the faithful (more tithing) or will it discourage members (possibly less tithing).

If you don’t “believe” in science, how do explain how your words display on this website? Magic? The power of God? Science requires no faith or belief. There is evidence that can be tested and examined. If you have an an explanation for any physical phenomenon that varies from accepted current scientific understanding,do research and experimentation. If you come up with a theory that has
