Don't get me wrong, Idaho is awesome, born and raised here so I may be biased. That doesn't mean there's not a lot of wacky people living here. Unfortunately many have let their religious beliefs give us some alt right, conspiracy believing, backwards thinking stupidity. I agree with you about the sudden growth and associated problems. Our pioneer ancestors didn't forsee the need for bette

The local radio station does a daily "Florida man" story. They still have Idaho beat for stupid, but, wannabe seems an accurate description. Sad thing is, I've lived in Florida too. I have all the luck. lol On a positive note, people here are getting vaccinated despite so many naysayers and conspiracy theorists. I've heard the vaccine is the guvmint trying to change your dna and

I was hoping it was just a one time thing in Boise, but, I just read in a local FB group someone wanting to organize a mask burning here in southeast Idaho, and sadly there were many that thought it would be a great idea. But, there were also many that thought it was stupid and dangerous, so, there may be hope. Meanwhile, Covid cases are surging in the area. https://www.idahostatejourna

I don't think they interpret the Millennium as being the end of the world, so you could have kids during that time, if that's what you're saying. So, of course, having a city in Florida is just good planning for the Millennial times, maybe a resort for the transformed uber righteous?

However did I know what the response would be??? -So, the Trib is Anti Mormon and spinning it. -It was 10 years ago and he was just trying to tell people not to despair. -If you do everything right, you can marry, have kids and grand kids DURING the Millennium (cuz the righteous will be transformed and able to have kids then). -Current GA's are saying to prepare now cuz we don

Thank you so much. I'm sure the answer to this is that it's an old article (2011) and now they're saying to get ready for the end any minute now (continuing revelation doncha know). Plus covid and no Trump, so, definitely the end of the world. lol

For some reason I thought I read some leader saying not to be afraid because the end of the world isn't coming in our lifetime or something like that. Certainly the corporation is planning long term with their investments. Does anyone recall something like this and who said it? Of course, I could just be getting old and my memory is failing, that, or maybe I just don't care that much about wha

Beards are filthy? You must be joking, or maybe you just read it in a magazine and wanted to believe because you have a fetish for the shaved male face? All parts of your body need to be cleaned, beards are no exception, but that doesn't make them filthy. Beards are normal for males and there's nothing wrong with them. I mostly remember it being a gossip fest and me being shocked at the information about members being shared which I thought should have been quite private, not up for open discussion. I felt sorry for the people being discussed and knew they would be mortified if they heard what was being said about them.

Considering at least one past "prophet" was a John Bircher, I would agree with that assessment. May even be more. Living in Idaho, I can say that a majority of my family (and neighbors) fit into that category. It's all about the money (and power) for TSCC though. The members are just sheep to be fleeced.

I think the terms they've come to are to act like they don't approve yet keep them as members so they can still get their money.

This just seems like lip service to me. Too little too late. Do they plan on ex'ing members arrested for the incursion? https://www.sltrib.com/religion/2021/01/15/lds-church-condemns/?fbclid=IwAR292s6K0ROWaui5bQMyWQRN-SouGtMfDIe4DEfM1_tL9njpR29wYhmaMek

For us, it was a matter of personal integrity. Our daughter was young at the time and being a member of evil cult you don't believe in seemed like bad behavior to model. That said, we didn't broadcast it to everyone either. We don't talk religion with family members or others, just politely change the subject. This is important, especially in the workplace, which is mostly Mormon. Mormon fr

Yes, the rates are declining. There is a movement in the U.S. to educate people about the dangers, human rights violation, and long term negative effects of routine infant circumcision. It's a money-making industry and people can be difficult to educate, but over time, it's working. Thankfully so. That said, I think if someone wants to perform body modification on themselves as a consenting a

Seems like...Pffft, now there's an understatement. When I started to question the Church's veracity, I began asking members, family and otherwise, about doctrine and history. I was shocked to find that everyone had their own skewed version of historical events, doctrine and it's meaning. They cherry-pick things to make it fit with what they want. I'm not sure there actually is just one reli

Not to worry, impeached dear leader said on Monday that the worsening corona virus outbreak in the U.S. is a "Fake News Media Conspiracy" and will all go away after the election day. Can't imagine why anyone would be worried. /s https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/26/coronavirus-trump-claims-the-worsening-us-outbreak-is-a-fake-news-media-conspiracy-even-as-hospitalizations-rise.html

"So, why don’t mormon drink coffee? I had heard that the original command was not to drink hot drinks. Can you drink cold drinks? Who gave that command? Is it Joseph Smith? Why is he against hot drinks? Has the mormon church claimed that it is because of health benefits?" Answers to your questions about the WoW can be found here: http://www.mormonthink.com/wow.htm
