She seemed so sincere!  I could tell it was a female by the bosoms, so the process was relatively stress-free.

Anytime you're asked if you served a mission, and your answer starts with, "No, but..." it doesn't matter what excuses follow.

I've heard enough stories so that, although I never experienced it, I can still feel the horror of kids having to see their parents parading the house wearing only their garments...just like missionaries at the start and end of each day.       ...And my memories regarding the latter involve old, saggy, yellowing, one-piece garments...that I was wearing!

It'll be fun when college athletes figure out how to unionize, or whatever it takes, to get paid a decent share of the revenues they generate.     A step towards that end occurred when student-athletes were allowed to broker deals with businesses to endorse products.  But only wildly popular student-athletes are able to cash in.  It won't be fair until football linemen start pu

As a lazy person, addicted to brevity (except in bed...I had to add that cuz, you know, ... Gladys) it matters not a whit to me HOW or WHY the BofM is not what JoJu and the mormon church claim it to be. I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that, in my mind, it is probably not the product of Nephite technology working hand-in-hand with agents of the lord. If I die and the next thing I see is St

Salt Lake Tribune story on 11/02/2022:     "You may have been reading about new questions surrounding the finances and charitable giving of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — specifically up north, in Canada, and Down Under, in Australia.     "This story provides a summary of those findings along with reports about the latest membership numbers from those

What little I know, based on me being me and what happened when I went out, it was entirely up to the bishop.       I think I'd kind of half-way assumed that David O. McKay would walk into his office some random morning and tell his secretary that he'd just received a revelation that the Brown kid in Las Vegas 2nd Ward should be called to the Mexican mission, ASAP, and I would th

I went to the dentist yesterday. As a reward to myself for not dropping the "Comfort Teddybear" they gave me to hold, I allowed myself to yield to temptation and went to the Baskins-Robbins next to the dentist's office, and ordered a medium root beer freeze.  Yum!!, right!!! Then the cashier said, "$7.40."  Good thing I wasn't still holding the "Comfort Teddybea

Did mormons shoot at each other during the Battle of the Bulge?     One of the very lesser-known stories regarding WWII has to do with the internment camps in Louisiana, where captured German soldiers were housed.     Keeping in mind the 'Aryan-ness' of these young German men, along with how depleted the ranks of young, single American males were because of the exigencies of

That was weird!! How are the mormons getting away with 'borrowing' their legal name? Even more weird, or as Gladys says, weirdier:     "What are the scriptures that the Church uses? "The Church of Jesus Christ accepts the Bible (King James Version) and The Book of Mormon as divinely inspired holy scriptures.     "If you believe in The Book of Mormon, doesn'

The mormon/heathen couple break-ups that occur when the Jackmo decides to go back to church are not an uncommon thread on subReddit exmormon (not to be confused with the órale-ese-mormón subreddit).         What's the best/worst break-up story you've experienced or heard about that was based on one party 'getting religion'?         Please, no graphic sexual
