Holland is no longer walking due to neuropathy in his feet. He's also receiving dialysis because his kidneys are no longer functioning. He was given a chance to share his favorite quotes and or teachings from great thinkers of the world. The dodo bird chose Joseph Smith and the BoM. :( At one time Holland was quite the scholar, but now his mind chooses mush for brain food.

I think we all can understand the correlation to the church's position on members retaining their TR because tithing flows into their coffers and to some extent justify their plan of building way too many temples. I have watched several podcasts about the church's recent push for members to wear garments and I didn't see this mentioned: If members aren't wearing garments day and night, then ch

I had a lot of Sunday School teachers in my youth. As kids we were bad, mouthy, sassy and incorrigible at times. Not so much me (if my mom found out that I was disruptive or rude, she would flog me with a strap) but others would give the teacher a hard time. This was the natural progression of the youth Sunday School class (12-14). Bishop would call a very spiritual sister who thought everyone

No matter how we as Aaronic Priesthood holders attempted to set up chairs, we would receive a tongue lashing. There were always 30 chairs. Five wide and six rows, nope! Just got to the point that it was better to do nothing because some leader (take your pick) we had bishopric, seventy, elders, high priests and young men who would walk into the cultural hall and within 5 seconds tell us grunts

My mother-in-law uses a wheelchair and my late wife had one too. I immediately noticed the backing of a chair in the video and the haziness around the back. It doesn't look to be natural shadows, there's a fuzzy tint that professional grade 4K cameras don't pick up. I didn't notice his lips, but here's a thought. Maybe he is ill enough to require an oxygen line to assist his breathing. And per

There was a talk about integrity but was odd. The speaker mentioned that Christlike love and compassion would never trump integrity to your covenants to the church. They really know how to wreck a good subject.

I watched clips of 2024 GC from JD and Nemo's analysis podcast. Two don't look well. One is Holland and Eyring looked to be at the end of the line. Several speakers appeared to tear up while giving their talks while looking at Eyring (maybe Eyring let the Q15 know that he's close to death's door. The group obviously knows what's really going on in their private lives.) Of course Nelson and Oaks a

I think her GC talk was assigned to address women not wearing garments. Her talk was the companion talk to Oak's about you made a covenant so get those garments on. I guess there's been changes to the wording because when I was endowed, I remember the feeling panic about being told to wear them day and night. (Now members are to wear them as long as they are members. I suppose their is implied di

About 65% of people who were surveyed feel happy despite living within one mile of an active water treatment plant. Interestingly, only 30% of people surveyed feel happy living within one mile of a LDS temple. Just kidding :D

40 years ago, the church made many predictions about stats which didn't come to pass (pun intended). I didn't attend BYU, but I have since watched many recorded talks where church leaders promised all the growth and great things which would happen around the world. Using numbers and projected data made those church leaders look smart until those things didn't come about~ Russia fully accepting th

Of course not. Mom likely doesn't wear them 24/7 either. I think there's a lot of Moromon influencers out there who dress athletically when posting their look

I think Uchtdorf ascribes to the philosophy of Cafeteria Mormonism~ meaning indulge in what you like and ignore what may be served to you. I can't remember the names of the popular elites who went around during Monson days but they were lecturing people to stay in the church if there are parts that benefit you. I have learned that my mom is mostly in the church for the social and people intera

You wrote a sarcastic text and the TBM buffoon thinks it was in dire solemnness. Reminds me of a time on the way to a dead dunking youth temple trip. Brother Blowhard sang all verses of Come come ye saints and he rear ended a slower moving farm truck. He didn't quite point the car to the right and he crushed the left fender. Nothing happened to the farm truck. I told him, "Boy it's a

A woman claims that she was singled out and removed from a Salt Lake to San Francisco flight because she was not wearing a bra. "In terms of a dress code, the airline does require that the passengers wear shoes and says they may be removed for being barefoot. The rule also states a passenger may be refused transportation, when “conduct, attire, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable r

Just curious if the church has taken out full page ads in local papers for GC? Previously, they did to generate excitement over Rusty's grandiose proclamations. Now that he is slowing down from a fall, it will be interesting if he's able to present a pre-recorded message or be propped up on the stand.

I don't think this is a big deal to church leaders, especially the women who are serving in the RS presidency. If anything, this is another "We can't believe members are so butt hurt over God's church and hierarchy." I think that's the type of conversations that church leaders are having. They can't believe that there's continual criticism over established church order and procedu

It really is insane to spend 800 a month on church which demands everything and gives so little to members. I really wasn't impressed with the budget. I would imagine that 1200 a month on food (for four?) is way too low unless they are eating a bucket of earthworms everyday. I am not a galloping gourmet by any means but I easily spend 800 dollars on groceries and takeout. And it's just me a

I had several weirdo missionary companions (not sexual in nature). Just some companions whose interpretations of certain missionary rules was flat out bizarre. One guy hated praying, even a simple prayer to bless the food was out of the question. His solution? We had ONE prayer to bless the groceries after shopping. This was done before organizing the food pantry and refrigerator. Then he would m

My plan would turn all those temples into sewage treatment plants. Just need some giant green pipes and a couple of sucking motors. Wouldn't GC be an improvement for members if this coming Sunday people learned about sewage treatment? Where Mormon shit ends up https://youtu.be/YW6GBciRHLg?t=113

He made no bones about being top dog and little need for revelation. He was a chief LDS Bureaucrat through and through. And while I was out when Let's Go Shopping Monson was at the reign, he really was lackluster when it comes to member expectations. Nelson's game- I hated being Mormon and I felt uncomfortable. So Nelson has made every longtime member feel uncomfortable by changing church

I hated wearing them. They sagged and often fell down between my trousers (I'm a guy btw). I often had to look for bathroom when out and about to pull them back up. The waistband of the garments wore out and they gave into gravity. They didn't fit well. And sometimes while wearing those dorky looking long shorts (well below the knee cap) the garments still fell below the hem line. I don't thin

I am not so sure that GC talks will be reactionary to the recent flak over women's access to the priesthood. I think GC talks are written prepared several months before GC rolls around. Whoever vets the talks before GC has the obvious Mormon ear. Look how many times dubious and inflammatory remarks routinely pass by. The church really ought to PAY a group of exmos and nevermos to preview each
