The mere notion of God changing the skin color of humans due to wickedness is obviously sheer ridiculousness. God was mad at Cain for committing the first murder on earth. God changed Cain from a normal white guy to a Negro. Likewise, the racist God got mad at some white guys who were new to "America" having magically sailed from the Old World. God gave them dark skin and it was a

Absolutely, the BoM will gradually be somewhat abandoned, as the BOA has been abandoned. Literal belief in the actual BoM events has been gradually fading for many decades - you could even say centuries. When Mormon pioneers crossed the plains heading to Utah, they would sometimes remark about bones they observed: "those bones could be from animals killed during the Great Flood when N

. . . my teenage son proposes that when TCOJCOLDS gets going again, they should stagger attendance, so members only attend every other week, or even once every 3 weeks . . . Interestingly, I think HE ACTUALLY HOPES THAT WILL HAPPEN so he won't have to go to church so often. I wonder how many LDS teens are thinking the same thing?

CDC estimates that if a choir congregates to sing together and don't wear masks (kind of hard to sound good with mask on), here's the results if ONE PERSON has contagious COVID-19: 87% of the choir will likely get infected. Even 6 foot distance wouldn't be great because singers disperse particles in the air all around them for much more than 6 feet.

If I had been in Bishop Hallows ward, the whole nasty situation would be so upsetting that I'd seriously consider never going back to church even after coronavirus situation is resolved. I'd predict empty pews in that building.

this is stunning I found this on Wikipedia (so . . . it must be true . . .) Only 9 million Christians were in Africa in 1900, but by the year 2000, there were an estimated 380 million Christians.

How can smart educated people (I'm thinking most of the USA) literally believe in the Judgment Day concept? https://www.christianity.com/wiki/end-times/what-is-the-final-judgment-of-god-what-happens-on-judgment-day.html To believe this, God must have a magical super-gigantic database of the lives of all humans ever on earth (good deeds, bad deeds, sins, crimes, repentance, and an entire lif

Einstein died April 18, 1955 in Princeton Hospital, and so his incredible scientific work was accomplished entirely without the benefit of powerful computer assistance. In 1917, Einstein applied the general theory of relativity to the structure of the universe and discovered that the general field equations predicted a universe that was dynamic. As observational evidence for a dynamic universe

If "God" is eternal going forward in time, did God always exist going infinitely back in time? Or was God the Father once a man on some distant planet, who became an exalted God by memorizing secret handshakes, donating a lot of money, and blindly believing lots of whimsical and nonsensical stuff? On 9/6/77, Spencer W Kimball spoke to BYU about "Absolute Truths" which is

Utah and Idaho COVID-19 death rate really low. Good job. Whatever they did kept the deaths to a low number. Maybe more prayers than Coloradoans? Utah 58 Idaho 66 and Wyoming only 7 deaths We got hit hard in Colorado. 921 COVID-19 deaths. Will reach 1,000 soon. Our Gov Jared Polis said "Coloradoans have done a great job of keeping coronavirus cases lower than expected . . ." . . .

The science channel has some shows with quite advanced theories about space, planets, galaxies, formation of the universe, universe expansion, dark matter, and so on. A recent theory is that our universe (known observable universe which is 13.8 billion years old), is just one of vast numbers of other "universes" like many expanding bubbles, and sometimes the edge of one universe touc

One time at an LDS social event, a really nice lady asked me why I didn't believe in TCOJCOLDS anymore. I gave a simple 60 second answer. The Noah's Ark story seems impossible to me. Adam & Eve and the Garden of Eden seems like an obvious fictional story. Same for Tower of Babel and much of the Bible. If the Bible includes lots of fictional stories, the BOM also contains people and places

In about 2011, Apostle Russell M Ballard stated that "the Church was worried about massive losses in the 18 to 30 age group." . . . well Mr Ballard . . . keep worrying 'cause the retention keeps getting worse and worse. Too bad most of you old dudes won't live long enough to see LDS membership literally decline each and every year. (estimated time for that steady decline approx 2040

According to BYU polls, Utahns with "no religious affiliation" have increased a lot: 1996 9.7% 2008 18.5% Pew Research: "no religious affiliation" in Utah up to 22% It's estimated that over 85% of exmormons do not get active in another religion. One explanation for changing Utah is simply that many people move to Utah, and many of them are not (and never will be) Mo

. . . so Trump wants the daily death number to slow to a trickle, but that may not happen because all states should now have tests for severely sick people in the hospital, and also potential testing of bodies (autopsy). Many numbers from Feb and March are probably bogus. And how accurate are April numbers anyway? They really need more accurate numbers to figure out what's really going on .

Your quick analysis may have merit. Here's some statistics: Density per square mile (not entire metro area): Denver 4,530/sq mi SLC 1,744/sq mi . . and if you take all of Salt Lake county with sprawling suburbs: 1.1 million (1/3 of UT) and 1,388/sq mi Utah has the highest birth rate, so I guess this shouldn't be too shocking: Age 40+ CO 55.3% UT 35.7% big difference . . . and Uta
