I think most people who know his name probably already know he’s Mormon, so to whatever extent that’s true TSCC already benefits from the name recognition. And making him an apostle (or whatever) wouldn’t boost it, because most non-mormons don’t even know what Mormon apostles are, let alone who they are.

The next thing I noticed is that it seems to be starting off with the "hero of my own story" vibe that's apparently common among Mormon leaders. Are we really expected to believe that the way security concerns propagate through the senate is that one member just happens to be at the pentagon, where someone just happens to share some info with him, who then thinks he ought to relay i

I just read it down to where the paywall blocked it. The first thing I noticed is that it's written by the guy who's authored multiple pro-Mormon puff pieces over the last few years. I just skimmed through his list of articles and he's written a lot of anti-Trump pieces, several pro-Mittens pieces, and at least one "Mittens hates Trump"-ish piece, so it's no wonder Romney picked

It's gobbledygook that no one else had already registered at the time. They couldn't get the "true" name, because it was already registered by another church.

Mittens should buy a night-light pen company, and then program the pens to send the messages he wants! ;)

I think this is his way of throwing shade at both Biden and Trump. "If I can't have it..." Mittens desperately wants to be relevant, or have an impact. This is not the first time he's conspicuously backed away from something when no one cares anyway. He waits in the wings and desperately hopes a white horse inexplicably turns up. He's ready to saddle up and ride. Always.

Maybe the force field only stops some, the way vampires can’t enter a home w/o permission, or JS couldn’t reach the plates until he was worthy, or how unworthy mormons can’t enter the temple… Uh… hey, maybe we can sell people special access permits to pass the force field! How does 10% of their income sound?

My dad was a pilot, so I can't even remember the first time I flew. Like some others have noted, I'm not afraid of the actual flying, but I just don't like the logistics around flying any more. Flights are always delayed. Aircraft problems. Crew not available. No leg room. No meals. Baggage fees. Etc. My daughters and I flew to New Orleans a while back. The return flight was a disaster. We go

The mission president said, "we can say a prayer." How generous. *eye roll* A week or so ago it was in the high 90s here, and there was an air quality warning to stay inside, but I saw two mishies biking across a huge intersection. One stopped and ran back out onto the road to pick up a book he had dropped (presumably a BOM). He was drenched in sweat and looked miserable. His wa

He also helped to liberate a concentration camp in WWII. Apparently seeing Bob Hope while serving inspired him to become a performer himself.

In episode 5 of "Jury Duty," two sequestered jurors "soak" while a third jumps on the bed! One of the two soakers is a squeaky clean guy who doesn't drink (except by accident), and is usually wearing a shirt and tie. They don't say he's mormon, but it sure seems like it. Does any other population group soak? Regardless, it's bizarre to see it featured in a TV series.

In college I went on a trip to Washington DC. The first morning in town the bus dropped us on the mall for the day. The group that I ambled off with was wondering where to go first, and a girl with whom I was smitten wanted to go to the Museum of Natural History, so naturally I agreed and encouraged everyone else too. Well, as soon as we got into the museum she started ranting and raving abou

Hulu has an exposé series out on Hillsong, an Australian based megachurch empire that has/had congregations in most major cities, including the US. It’s fairly new. There were only two episodes when I noticed it a couple weeks ago, and two more released since then. (Not sure if more are intended.)

Given your neighbor’s comments, you should agree with to go back there with the mishies, but to team up against them and help your neighbor blow them off! Then maybe they’ll realize that there’s no point in bothering with either of you.

Well, I'm a nevermo, so I probably have different sorts of boundary issues. And I've ranted and raved about them all here at various times in the past, so I'll just re-share the first and last episodes. First episode... 15 years ago, I took my then girlfriend (the late Mrs. Stinky) and her two daughters "home" to meet the family. We made a special dogleg through the town where my

Tonight’s episode took place in Utah, and Scully is attacked, imprisoned and infected with a big bug by a creepy cult out in the desert. After being rescued, she’s treated at the BYU Medical Center. (Is there even such a place?)

I only learned the other day that the true-life patriarch of the Lafferty clan was NOT named Ammon! Interesting that whoever scripted Hulu's Under the Banner of Heaven series chose to rename him Ammon. Perhaps due to the "wacky Mormon" implications of the name. ???
