I had been a convert of little over a year before going to Finland. Sigh... What a waste.

I believe he is a troll just playing with us. If I am wrong, then any one this ignorant and arrogant will not be an effective missionary. He will push any reasonable investigator out of joining Mormonism. He will hound 'in-actives' out of the church. He will drive his companions insane to the point they will join the growing list of those going home early. Active members will be so put-off

"Fanny Alger, age 16, single Scholars disagree about whether Smith's relationship with Fanny Alger was a marriage or merely an affair. However, the LDS church cites Fanny as Smith's first plural wife, noting that the pair married in Kirtland, Ohio in the mid-1830s, when Smith would have been about 30 himself. Fanny lived in the Smiths' house with Emma, which caused much tension. Compton say

This site was founded during Thanksgiving 18 years ago. It is primarily due to Susan I/S that we keep running. I hope to retire mid-2015 and will have more time to devote to updating and archiving. We were down for a bit today with a power outage here in Cleveland TN. Have a great Thanksgiving to all the US folks. To all the newbies - welcome. Eric

Wife is sick. Went to the walk-in with her. Dropped her off back home and went to two pharmacies, bank and groceries. Hoping to watch a bit of the Packer's game and practice the clarinet for a concert in two weeks. A quiet day if she stops coughing so much :-)

I am hitting retirement the middle of next year. Where do the years go. Sigh... I am fortunate that several of the firms I consult for want me to continue on a part time basis. The biggest issue in retirement, other than health, is having sufficient financial resources. Not having paid tithing the past 20 years has made it possible. I would be despondent to be at this point in my life kno

When I founded this site 18 years ago I thought I was the only one to have these nightmares, Being a introvert made the experience painful and I left the mission feeling a complete failure. I have some archived threads on this topic. I am currently sitting at the Baltimore airport and will look those up when I get home. It will be nice to to sleep in my own bed for a couple of nights then on

I met Blair at an early Exmo conference that was held in Las Vegas. We were a small group then. He had a great passion about helping folks out of Mormonism. I am so sorry for your loss and ours. Thanks for putting up the tribute site. Eric

From: https://www.lds.org/topics/plural-marriage-in-kirtland-and-nauvoo?lang=eng "...Fragmentary evidence suggests that Joseph Smith acted on the angel’s first command by marrying a plural wife, Fanny Alger, in Kirtland, Ohio, in the mid-1830s. Several Latter-day Saints who had lived in Kirtland reported decades later that Joseph Smith had married Alger, who lived and worked in the Sm

This is a troll. It is the same person who posted Mormon.org as the truth - Current Mormon. Typical Mormon tactic to lie and deceive. Since I am an admin and founder of this site I noticed the same IP address. Perhaps you can tell us why lying is good and a excellent way to promote Mormonism? We are tired of people like you. Not all Mormons lie like you. Some are decent people deceived

Yes. Our expenses have jumped this year. Need to find a better setup. Volume is also a huge factor.

Volume has caused our ISP to modify our server setup. I am hoping this will make us more stable. That took a couple hours this afternoon

This does create lack of credibility for us when such speculation is posted. A newbie will not realize this is not typical of the board. They will look at this as typical wild anti-Mormon tactics and go back to the corporation. Let's stick to facts and to our personal experiences.

I posted this before. Years ago I was invited to a Finnish mission reunion organized by the wife of my first mission president. She wrote to me, "I know you are not a Mormon anymore, but I believe you are still a good person..." That was a great inducement to attend.

This has been troubling for me as well. I have almost no elementary school memories. I know I went to a particular elementary school from K to 6, but have only 3 memories. One memory from 5th grade and two from sixth grade of short insignificant events. It is like I never existed - at least to me. My family never did anything. My dad, when he was home, just watched TV. My mom, a former b

We are in good shape and the $4000 we raised earlier this year should last us until Spring of 2015, if all goes well. When we have a serious DoS attack, it can be expensive. That is the reason organizations launch a denial of service attack because of the costs in resolving issues for the victim of the attack. It is dirty. Anyways here is an invoice I was just paying. 07/11/2014 CHAR

I play in a community orchestra. When we have performances, we usually have from 55-60 people playing. Of that sixty, 3 are Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA). I was at the board meeting Monday night and I suggested we would be better off with a Friday night concert than on a Tuesday this fall. As you can guess, I was told I was inconsiderate of the SDA's. We have not had a Friday nor a Saturday
