Thanks for posting this. I found out his father was around the same age as mine who died recently. https://www.sltrib.com/opinion/kirby/2020/10/02/robert-kirby-old-man-is/ I'm not a fan but I have found a bit of his writing entertaining. Also, we have the same first name and his last name is my middle name. I can't say I'm sad to see him go. I think he had jumped the shark for his audien

On second thought maybe they ought to take Robert Kirby's suggestion of public confessions? https://www.sltrib.com/opinion/kirby/2020/12/06/robert-kirby-confessing/

I googled and couldn't find any predictions. I thought this unusual because this upcoming conference is supposed to knock your temple slippers off. I predict no donuts will be made for their April conference. No women making donuts for the upcoming conference. I don't think Wendy makes them? https://www.exmormon.org/mormon/mormon343.htm "For this conference only, the evening sess

Par for the Kirby Course. He follows living prophets who don't apologize, endorse their own authority over secular authority, and have no qualms with their abusive and morally corrupt ways of dealing with their past and present. Kirby Cop would shoot their holy prophets if he came across them in an alley doing "The Lord's" work. He probably would have drug Hinckley in front of Mar

Kirby postulates in gest that his church is "catching up" to him. https://www.sltrib.com/opinion/kirby/2019/10/06/robert-kirby-lds-church/ I have wondered many times how far from Mormon center columnist Robert Kirby was in comparison to men he would have to claim as special people for his god to lead him with. My guess is Robert Kirby is a Jayhawk Mormon. https://kuhistory.k

I'll up the ante. My father was molesting his adopted teenage daughters while serving as a branch president at the MTC. Don't worry, no revelation involved. The old branch president was a friend. I assume he recommended my father. For my mother this was the height of her fame and shame. It was the highest calling my father got. Paraphernalia still hangs on the wall at home including his placar

As a parent of a missionary this was pabulum and useless. What a crock of memorylane garbage styled as something I guess will be considered funny by some but just more of a montage of Mormonism. Wouldn't even be that interesting in a memoir.

Ha! So true! The Mormons for whom Mormonism "fits" focus on being Christlike and that often flies in the face of their cultural mores. Funny, being indoctrinated to be happily following Mormonism doesn't quite fit being Christlike. Who'd of thunk it?

I appreciated that Cabbie posted this thread. I believe Kirby needs to be examined by RfM posters who know of him and have read some of him. He forms part of the important "folk of the fringe" in Mormonism. I dislike him for a variety of reasons chief being his usefulness to Mormons in sustaining this abusive organization. And it is a matter of taste. Some might find this extremel
