I pop in now and then to see who's still about. I find the usual suspects and am happy this board is still active! It certainly helped me when I needed what it offered. Thanks, Eric, et al. I am recovered. :D

I claimed JS was a fraud. Online (Facebook). I declined to take it down when leadership requested it. They excommunicated me. I am now a very happy exMormon. http://www.mormonthink.com/personalstories/bruce-holt.htm

I would call myself a Trekker but not necessarily avid! "Moose" stems from a childhood nickname, from a comic on the back page of Boy's Life magazine that temporarily replaced Pee Wee Harris. Bruce the Moose. Timing is everything!

The following link into Spotify (you can get a free account if you don't have one) is interesting regarding the Mormon brain and spiritual experiences, instead of fundamentalism and brain damage. You could also look up Jeffery S. Anderson (University of Utah) and his study on Mormons (specifically) and the brain during "spiritual experiences". https://open.spotify.com/episode/3QFuJjb

Yes! I had a somewhat unique experience by being a Spanish-speaking missionary in Sydney (and Wollongong) Australia! That said, my interest would be to see Australia like I could not as a missionary. I would have to start with Sydney and get reacquainted. But I'm getting older and I probably cannot work that in to my retirement plan, when I retire (soon?). Anyway, I love Ozzies and Hispanics,

Personally, I am recovered (https://www.exmormon.org/Am-I-recovered.pdf). I am still working on a cure for my family, though.

I would say yes, for the most part. There are always some bad days that crop up at any time. My MP was Earl C. Tingey. I was in the Australia East Mission 1974-76, Spanish speaking. Yep, "¡G'die, señor!" At one Mission gathering, Marvelous Marvin Ashton was in attendance and between meetings he was standing a little behind and to the side of me and I took the opportunity to break up h

My youngest brother and his whole family left. They live in Cedar Park. I don't cringe knowing The Cult is dwindling.

Eric, Admins, Moderators, Participants, You all aided my exit from The Cult. Thank you, sincerely! Eric, because I came here a few years ago, I was able to write this post that is now included among the "Article Examples" on the front page: https://www.exmormon.org/Am-I-recovered.pdf Best wishes and may the music be sweet! My situation, being excommunicated for "apostate behavior", is different than that of some who just disappear or resign. For them, TSCC maintains hope for their return, even searches for them. I, on the other hand, am evil (apostate) and they leave me very much alone. My wish is that someone would visit and try to redeem me! I am evil! :-D

A Moose of a different color, I am sure. It's been quite a while since I used the moniker even on this board.

Before going with my real name on this board, my nickname was one I had in childhood: Moose. As in "Bruce the Moose".

She's not just my spouse, she's my best friend and she knows it. I frequently thank her for the kind of woman she is. I am, indeed, fortunate.
