My oldest son who is six, also with ASD-non verbal, was treated like a he was a nuisance. It's sad because I thought that tscc would be the one place where my sweet boy would be accepted for his differences. I am so glad to have resigned and I would encourage your sister to do so as well.

The issue of transgender children is much deeper than the physiological aspect. There is a lot going on psychologically. A 10 year olds cognitive skills are not developed enough to make a serious decision concerning hormone blocking agents. Trust me, I have four sons and I will always be there to support them in whatever life throws them. My 2 year old son has long hair he refuses to cut. My 4 ye

Why would you think I would allow my child to suffer? I would support my child in whatever they chose to do. Whatever clothes they want to wear, hair styles, name changes, etc. I just don't think giving medical treatment to my child at age 10 is the right decision- hence waiting until they are 14-16.

At birth you would know the sex of the child. You can't dispute that.Or are you talking about a case of a hermaphrodite? If the child was born with male parts but identified as a girl I would allow him to make the choice to take hormones at a later age, maybe between 14-16. This is what I would do as a mother.

The church made me feel like I was unworthy because I had doubts. I could never go along and always had questions even as a small child. It makes good parents into bad parents. I will never forget my mother telling me that she would rather me be dead than for me to lose my virginity before marriage.

I can't help and crack up about the coffee table being called a "cocoa table." I grew up thinking it was called that and my parents were converts. Coffee was considered so evil when I was a child. My poor grandmother wasn't allowed to drink coffee when she visited us in our home. I always felt so sad that my Grandma wouldn't be in heaven with me because she drank coffee.

Also, if you have a child with a disability you can not force them to behave how society thinks they should. It's not the parents fault. I'm certainly not going to take my son to the foyer and discipline him if he doesn't understand what he is doing is wrong.

Actually, my son was not unhappy. He was stimming and making some noise. There are laws that are put into place to not discriminate those with disabilities. I did not take my son to a high end restaurant. I did not take my son to a movie. I took him somewhere where I thought we would be accepted. My son has a right to enjoy life. He has a right to grocery shop, even if assholes like to stare beca

About 6 months ago my husband starts talking about wanting to attend a church. He is Catholic but isn't religious about attending mass. So I oblige. We get our 4 young boys ready for mass and attend. My boys were a little bit loud, but were mostly good. About halfway through the mass an usher asks us to leave and get a babysitter for our kids for next time. My poor husband was so embarrassed. My

I was born in to the Mormon church. My parents were both converts. My dad converted as a teenager and my mom converted after meeting and marrying my father. They were not married in the temple but were later sealed after three kids. My oldest brother was from my mom’s first marriage. (teenage bride). I was born in the middle, an only girl of five brothers. My parents remained active throughout

I never paid tithing as an adult, only as a child and teenager at my parents requests. Looking back now I remember never having new clothes, no lunch money, and grew up in poverty. That amount my parents paid in tithing would have really helped out! I'm saddened that my parents put this religion before their children's well being.

Yes, he asked me to describe. My answer was much like yours as I didn't have a full grasp of sexuality or the terms. I could tell he was disappointed by my answer and tried to get me to explain more, but I didn't know how. I truly wish parents would talk to their children(especially in the Mormon settings)and let them know that nobody has a right to request such personal information. I also ba

As a young girl we often had to do these bishop interviews before going to do baptisms for the dead or any other "spiritual" event. i am haunted by these interviews. I remember being a young naive 12 year old and my bishop asking me if I masturbate. Not only that but he made me describe what masturbation is. Was that really necessary? Did anyone else feel creeped out? Now as a grown wom
