I will talk to Wingnet. If we go over $700 we could use the money for a face lift. Right now Nick, (who works for free and has been great!!), is doing some work and I am doing a little. I think using Wordpress would give us some nice options.

It has only been one day. There are people mailing in and folks over the weekend have not read this post yet. I suspect by Weds of next week we will have met the $700.00 or it will be shortly met when the last of the mail arrives after Weds. It is a small amount when you consider the millions of dollars the Mormon church spends on the Internet. Our influence on the Net is certainly dispro

The owner of Wingnet put in many hours to combat the problem. Wingnet also set up a dedicated server for us. We use more bandwidth than all their other customers combined. Our normal monthly fee of $105.00 is covered each month by a generous individual who puts it on his American Express Card. Our site looks simple, but it gets an amazing number of hits daily. It takes work to keep it runn

I am fortunate to play with a few local jazz groups. Tonight we were asked to play at a funeral for a young man who died of brain cancer on Sunday. The father asked that our sextet play some Dixieland at the conclusion of the funeral service. This young man was only 23 and had attended college in New Orleans and loved Dixieland music. The service was emotional with family members speaking a

When this new board started last month (September), we had a serious Denial of Service attack. It took a number of people quite a few hours to contact all the offending sources and block and then unblock wide ranges of addresses in the routers. There were long hours in the night and throughout the following days to get us running again. I would like to raise some money to give to our ISP -

When are the brethren most inspired or when is the Spiritâ„¢ the most involved? 1. When they write their talk? 2. When a staff member writes their talk for them? 3. When the talk is corrected in committee before presentation? 4. When actually giving the talk? 5. When the talk is later edited? 6. When the video of the talk is later edited? 7. When the PR folks attempt

Published: Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 12:00 a.m. MST "City Creek Reserve is spending more than $1 million a day on construction, and the project ultimately will cost around $3 billion, said Chris Redgrave, a KSL executive who also chairs the Salt Lake Chamber's Can-Do Coalition, which is looking for ways to jump-start the downtown economy." Reasons for the discrepancy: 1. Only $1.5

First of all - Congratulations on a wise decision! There are many of us here who wished we had made the same decision at that point in our lives. You are by no means a loser. You have a good mind with the ability to think clearly. That is a great attribute to have and to use all of your life. Only a sick religion would make you feel like a loser. It is the religion that is the loser. O

This is a work of fiction, created by humorist Elroy Willis. On his site, Religion in the News (a site apparently designed around satirizing all things Christian), Mr. Willis explains that the story was "intended to make a mockery of the ridiculous idea of some rapture where people will supposedly float up into the sky to meet Jesus.

2084. Oh sigh...
My son was 40% disabled in Afghanistan. He developed good relationships with the doctors. He made sure he received every benefit possible for himself. Fortunately, is he is more outspoken than me and insisted on getting the care. If your husband is not getting the best care possible, ask to see a higher authority to get what is needed. Be polite and firm. The Army medical staff seemed to r

I deeply despise this aspect of Mormonism. Life is often tough enough as it is without being reminded you are not good enough. Today with falling house values, large families, tithing, time wasting church callings, no wage increases or layoffs etc. it is no wonder Mormons are into anti-depressants. The church does not help members. In fact, it makes them feel worse. It is a sick organization

Nick did the majority of the work. We can not thank him enough!! We also had other helpers. I am not sure if they want their names out, so I will ask if they want some recognition. I just sat back and watched it happen :-). This is a great community. We agreed on functions such as no Avatars nor similar useless features. We wanted speed and simplicity over fancy appearance. Th
