Who here remembers Ed, Big Daddy Roth, and his Rat Fink decals? In the 60s, he was a pin stripper, car painter, designer and creator of the most awesome decals in the Ratfink designs. But now we have "The rest of the story". In the early 60s, he was working in Portland, Oregon as a car painter and pin stripes. He developed a great following for his designs. He moved to Los Angeles a

Well, not like I used to, but I've been perusing the board again. Some may remember me, in 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Believe me when I say that nothing will alter your priorities like hearing that. I was told I had 6 months without treatment, and 18 months with treatment. I do not know where the cancer came from, there were no symptoms. I used to hang out here all day f

Anyone notice the rainbow flag flying above one side of the end zone seats at BYU-Utah game today? I saw a posting on fb yesterday fro John Dehlin, saying it would be a real neat idea. There was no reporting on it and I only saw it briefly as the camera panned the stadium, but it made me chuckle.

You poor youngsters. When I was growing up in the church, (1950s)we had a church basketball team. We competed in the city league against other local churches. We had Road Shows where we would compete in plays against other wards and branches in the stake. We had swimming parties for mutual nights. We had dances, we actually used the cultural hall for culture. It all changed in one word:Correlatio

During the last general conference, when they were reading thr sustaining of general authorities, several members stood with their backs to the podium. They refused to sustain any of them. I would encourage you to do this. If I lived close to you, I would go and stand with you. Maybe you will start a movement in your stake.

That's the lame excuse they give for the emotional abuse of children this actually is. This is really about protecting the corp from lawsuits arising from charges of custodial interference if they baptize an underage child. I think they are also trying to protect their temple from the gays.

That is the line they are using, hoping you will not look past that lame excuse for emotional abuse against children. If I read elder christofferson right, it is about protecting the corp from lawsuits arising from possible custodial interference if they were to baptize an under age child. It is also about protecting their temple rituals from the gays.

And after all this, does Whoopi still defend him? "It's never been proven in a court of law" is what Whoopi was yellin on The View. Well, as far as I know, no court was ever given a chance to look at it. That's a big difference.

Dear Heart, I am sorry for that devastating news. Tell DH that I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the esophagus last May, I went through the tests, and they said they would only give me chemo, because it was stage 4. so chemo is once every three weeks for approx 5- months. More tests after chemo, and all lesions, they were on my liver and in my sternum, were gone. Chemo works. They give y

I find it hilarious that youcan't get to heaven unless you pay your tithing and go to the temple. I asked my sister in law once; since I've been to the temple and I know all the tokens and secret handshakes to get to heaven, why can't I just walk through the gate when I get there? She said there will be angels at the gate to stop me. Interesting, so the same fuedal system of borders and border gu

I grew up in the 50s. In our little branch in Oregon, we met in an old, probly built in the 30s, Episcopalian church building. There were stained glass windows. Nothing with pictures of saints or anything like that, just colored opaque glass. Nearly every sunday, we were reminded that in a real mormon church, we wouldn't have stained glass windows. There was always talk of the building fund and o

So everyone's very helpful with the name, some are honest answers and some are funny. But do you honestly believe the world needs another religion? I don't even understand that concept. Can you please explain why you think the world needs another religion?

Yea, I remember PPP bragging in some of his writings about the parellels between tscc and Mohamadism, by which I assume he meant Islam. Hugh Nibly was always writing about parellels also. Maybe they were not sure of their own religion, so they have to say things like "see, we are just like them"

Well, here I am, back again. As some here may know, I was diagnosed wityh stage 4 Esophageal cancer last May. That will give you pause. the PET scan showed there were lesions in my liver, very small ones, and there were lesions in my sternum in addition to the ugliest tumor you ever want to see. So, the first oncologist I saw told me I had 6 months without treatment, 18 months with. I don't see

Outside of tscc, I've never heard of Richard Bushman, even inside tscc, I've never tyil he wrote RSR.I'm betting he is figuring that at least he has the crowds revering what he says. I don't know if he could elevate himself to rock star status he is beginning to enjoy. Thereis a reason people become pimps, it pays better, its easier, more popularity, etc.

I remember the first time that concept hit me. I was about 12, and our branch at the time was so small, SS classes had to be combined, because some classes only had one child in it to teach. So 5o, the 12-14 yo were with the 15-17 yo. I was asking a question about how we could know if it was true, if there is no other source other than the scriptures that is telling us this. I probly was asking

So, he took the chest that Hiram gave him, went to the woods, 2-3 miles, put the plates into the chest, which would have weighed at least 60-100 lbs, carried that back to the house, while being attacked three different times by three different groups, and managed to defeat them all, while carrying almost 100 lbs with him, that man should have tried for the olympic team. Oh, wait, there wasn't one
