(For those of you who are new, when I was first doubting Mormonism, Bishop Jackwagon left some painted wooden blocks on my doorstep as a gift that spelled BELIEVE. Yeah, that's all I needed. Anyway, it bugged me so I returned them to the store whose name was on the box. The store told me they were an almost-free gift with purchase. You spend a certain amount in the store and get these nifty blocks for $2.99. They refunded me the money, which I promptly put in a collection to feed the homeless. Then I went out and bought blocks that spell THINK, painted them the same color as the BELIEVE blocks and they have been on my fireplace, making me smile, ever since.)
Anyway, one of my FB friends posted the following today:
Before you speak, think
T = Is it true?
H = Is it helpful?
I = Is it inspiring
N = Is it necessary?
K = Is it kind?
Applied to Mormonism: No, it's not true, nor is it helpful. It's certainly not inspiring or necessary. And, as a group, more than anything it's not kind. I guess my simple blocks have layers of meaning even I didn't realize. :) lol.
