What happens to Church held assets if the Church dissolves?

Many of us had ancestors in the Church since its beginning. Most of us here paid 10% at sometime or another.

Where do all the assets go if a church no longer has a membership? What happens at the end of any non-profit?

Apparently the assets would be donated to a registered charity. No doubt one setup as a shell.

Most organizations don't end with loads of assets, they die with loads of debt. I'd like to think that the assets would be divided between the membership, but it's not going to happen. Land and holdings will be sold off slowly if necessary to keep operations going. The church wouldn't actually fold until there is nothing left. Were you hoping to take over one of the temples as your primary residence? Maybe we could set up a temple time share program...like one of those high-end vacation home programs...
